Administrators Hervé Posted November 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 14, 2012 Was the BT radio enabled before you installed Mac OS X (BT blue LED lit)? If not, it needs to be enabled from Windows... Which Wifi card do you have? Intel is not supported and some cards like DW1395 require post-install kext. Sri
Hi Herve, Bluetooth LED light is on when I power on and it stays even when OS loads. When I go to utilities -> Bluetooth it does not recognize that there is Bluetooth on the laptop. About the wifi, I am not sure whether it is intel based or not. It says Dell PR032 350 Truemobile Bluetooth Adapter Card on dell website when I look up my system spec. PR032 is the part number. PR032 1 CARD (CIRCUIT)..., WIRELESS..., INTERNAL..., BLUETOOTH..., 350, VSTA How can I know if it is intel card? Do I need to buy another card or USB wifi adapter? Thanks for your help Thanks and Regards, Srikanth
Administrators Hervé Posted November 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 14, 2012 re: Wifi card, I was talking about the Wireles Ethernet, not the Bluetooth which you've already indicated to be a BT350 adapter (have a look at the Bluetooth post in the Research section). You could open up the laptop to look at the Wifi card physically (it's under the keyboard).
Sri
I have Intel WM3945ABG card. I removed the keyboard and looked at it. As per the forum Intel cards are not supported. What options do i have now? Which other cards work?
Administrators Hervé Posted November 15, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 15, 2012 You can look for Dell-branded Broadcom cards such as DW1390, DW1490, DW1395 (802.11 a/b/g) or any other supported 'n' capable card.
