Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2014 Look it up in your BIOS (press F2 at Dell logo when you switch on/reset the laptop). WXGA+ is normally 1440x900. The DSDT table is different and using the wrong one will give you a black screen.
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2014 Use this on HiRes/WXGA+ 1440x900 X3100 model: D630_X3100_HiRes_Extra.zip

b0rgri0t
Herve. I created a new SL usb from myhack. Copied the extras that you provided. When I attempt to boot from and install from the usb, it will boot initially, and then it stays on the grey screen and doesnt get to the OSX Install. Am I using the Extras you provided correctly? Administrators Hervé Posted May 4, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 4, 2014 Check your screen res in the BIOS setup! Getting to know one's computer specs is the primary thing to do for Hackintoshing...
b0rgri0t
Everything worked perfectly once I removed the modules directory from the Extras.zip you sent me. Thank you very much sir! In the event that you or someone like you isnt here to help out, what would I do in the event that EDP didnt work? Hunt down the files manually and add them into the Extras? Administrators Hervé Posted May 5, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 5, 2014 Yes. But you should have everything in the Extra you got there, i.e. no need of EDP.
