leegray_01
All- I had my dell e5420 working fine and then iTunes updated and now i get a KP on boot. Is there any way to easily fix this, or do I need to start over and re-install? Help! Thanks Lee
Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 6, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 6, 2015 What's your KP? Boot with -v -f and list your error. Most likely it's AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement, you could install NullCPUPowerManagement or install the patched version of AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement from 10.10.3, it's the same version for 10.10.4 found here. I assume you have Chameleon loader since Clover won't have this issue.
leegray_01
Jake, Thank you for responding. I am very much outside of my element when dealing with a non windows machine. I did run the boot loader with the -v -f . The issues seems to be in the AppleIntelCPUPowerManaement. How would I install the updated file when the computer will not boot, and I can not find the USB boot drive I had.... Again thank you for your assistance with this. leegray_01
** Update- took the HDD out of the laptop and attached it to a iMac and copied the Appleintel power management kext on the hdd and bingo. It is up and running! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction! Lee
Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 7, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 7, 2015 Lesson learned, next time before upgrading, place NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in /Extra/Extension. After upgrade, install the patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and then remove NullCPU...
