Tennaki
Hey all. Been trying to get Yosemite running on an E6430 machine here with a i7-3740QM, and NVIDIA 5100M GPU. When I try to boot into the installer, I'm greeted with this almost immediate kernel panic. panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffff80008f0204): Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCode/xnu/xnu-2782.20.48/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1590 I've tried replacing the Kernel file from this thread https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-e6xxxe7xxx-yosemite-install-guide/, and from this post https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7377-e6410-nvidia-yosemite-help-thread/?p=49886, no success. I've attached the Extra's folder I am using as well. I've tried using the DSDTs with Optimus Enabled and Disabled; still got the same error. Administrators Hervé Posted July 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2015 There's no need to replace the kernel with an Ivy Bridge CPU; you only replace the AICPUPM with the patched version available here or you use NullCPUPM. Your problem is not kernel related, it'll result from the DSDT or the kexts used in your Extra folder.
