maitrex
Hi guys I followed "Dell Latitude E6xxx/E7xxx Yosemite Install Guide" by Jake Lo (1+ year ago) with very good results. @Jake, thank you for your support. Now I'm running OS X 10.10.4 Is there anyway to upgrade to Sierra or to El Capitan without going through a fresh install? Kind Regards, Maitrex
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 22, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 22, 2017 Unfortunately my Yosemite guide uses Chameleon boot loader and you can't update directly unlike Clover loader. But you can create a new Sierra / El Capitan installer and install on top. This will retain all the data and applications. Another option would be to install Clover loader on top with the latest Clover bootpack, removing any Chameleon bootpack (Extra). Then you can update directly. Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 16, 2017 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2017 Here's my Clover guide and bootpack on post #2, for El Capitan and Sierra. Go down and follow the post Installation to get Clover onto your system. Then add the bootpack. Reboot and you should see the Clover GUI. Once you're able to boot to the desktop with Clover, you can upgrade to El Capitan or Sierra directly. You should make a backup first just incase.
