I would try the method you suggested. There are a few places I do not understand. "running the myhack chameleon install"--- how does it differ from the standard install as shown in http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/documentation/pre-installation/ ? What do you mean by "the booted os"? A mac os? or any? Many thanks!
