[SOLVED] Chameleon bootloader not working on 4k HDD
Harkey013 replied to JTylerBlake's topic in Bootloaders
Thanks Bronxteck for your help but I managed to get it working another way. I powered on my D630 using the USB install but booted from the SSD. I then used Myhack to load the latest Chameleon then again to FixIt. Powered down removed the USB Install disk and powered up and now it works fine. -
[SOLVED] Chameleon bootloader not working on 4k HDD

Hi, I'm building a Dell Latitude D630 using Mountain Lion and SSD. I ran into the same problem of the Boot0:GPT error. I tried your fix and was able to unmount the disk0s2 but I couldn't apply the fix, it came back with dd: if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2 unknown command Am I typing the command in wrong, or is my Dell not compatable with my Samsung SSD? Everything else appears to work when I boot of the USB key. Regards, Ken. -

Hi Herve, after a few reinstalls and trying to get my head around the Mac way of doing things I got my D430 running with the latest SL. it has been running for a couple of weeks now decoding my DVD collection onto iTunes. My only problem is lack of SD card support and waking from Hibernation, both items are very minor and I can live without them. I haven't tried it yet but is the PC slot able to work under SL? Regards, Ken.

Many thanks for the fast reply, as I said initially I am very much a beginner, I'll go back to the boards and try and find out how to do what you say. Regards, Ken.

Hi, I'm a new hackintosh user and I'm having problems with loosing WiFi (airport) after installing the 10.6.4 update or any of the Combo updates. I have a Dell D430 with a Broadcom card and I used a Boot image (D620SLV1.iso) that I found while reading Alains Blog (Alain Morgado). The boot disk runs flawlessly and let's me load Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail with WiFi working, but as soon as I update to 10.6.8 Combo and restart I can't turn on. Any help would be welcome as I am very much a newbie that wants to learn. Cheers, Ken.
