I still can’t get any audio. Nothing shows up. The speaker is greyed out in the top bar. The native AppleHDA method doesn’t seem to work
-
Great no audio over the DisplayPort
-
so my DP to HDMI cable just arrived. I connected it and still no acceleration. So, now getting frustrated I decided to revert back to the original config.plist you provided me with @Jake Lo and reinstated the DSDT.aml you provided me with to get my sounds working. I changed the audio to 3 and the graphics platform ID had a typo so corrected that to 0x0d220003. Rebooted and TADA, graphics are accelerated showing 1536mb. Thanks again for your help and patience Jake. Much appreciated
-
nope. still no acceleration. I may try starting from scratch with a fresh install of Sierra and upgrade to High Sierra again and go from there.
-
Will do. Thanks for your help Jake. I feel your going above and beyond
-
Ok, I managed to get it to boot by editing clover at boot. I set the Graphics Target ID to 0x0d20003 which it was before and set the audio to 3 instead of 15. I have edited the config.plist to reflect this with Clover Configurator. HD 4600 still shows as running with 7mb in About This Mac though......hmmmmmm

@Jake Lo I had to direct message you the file as I couldn't upload It here for some reason

I replaced the DSDT with the one you provided and it still didn’t work. I managed to patch the AppleHDA kext file with AppleHDA Patcher and ran it through Kext Utility, restarted and BOOM! Audio was working. The graphics are annoying, videos are very poor. I will look into adding a GPU sooner rather than later I think Thanks again for all all your help guys. Much appreciated
-
So the upgrade went smoothly. Only issue is I have lost all sound. I removed VoodooHDA and AppleHDADisabler as you said but now have lost sound. Sorry to be annoying but any suggestions?
-
@Jake Lo It works fine but I get some graphical anomalies from time to time. I don’t have the monitor for the 3020 but do have a monitor with HDMI input. That’s why I have the lead on it’s way. I’ve followed your instructions and am currently watching the install update to HS. Thanks for for your help @Jake Lo @borgiatos @ChrisStocker and @ioncatana A WiFi card is next on my agenda. The board only had 1 PCIe x16 slot and 1 PCIe x1 slot so after the GPU and WiFi card its pretty much a finished project

Thanks for your help guys. I will try this once I get home. Any recommendations on a low profile GPU I could upgrade to? Doesn’t have to be amazing spec
-
Thanks borgiatos. I shall try that. What method did you use to create the boot USB if you don’t mind me asking?
-
Thanks ChrisStocker. Yes it does have the ALC3220 chip. I’m fairly new to hackintoshing. I tend to follow guides and don’t play around too much in case I break something! I will remember to try the AppleALC kext. Cheers

I’m currently waiting for a DisplayPort to HDMI cable to arrive so cannot confirm HDMI audio just yet. Yes I use VoodooHDA currently. I followed ioncatanas’ guide referencing yours back on page 3. The only kext I added myself was a Realtek one to enable my Ethernet. All the rest were from ioncatanas’ attachments. I will post a screenshot for you once I get home. Will be a few hours though so dont hang about waiting for me

Hey Jake, Thanks again for offering to help me. I have attached a zip of my clover folder for you. If you need any other information I hope I can provide it. Thanks again CLOVER.zip

Thanks! Once I get home from work I’ll do that!

Hey ioncatana and Jake Lo! You guys helped me to Hackintosh a SFF 3020 to Sierra with the details you both posted. I’m curious though have either of you managed to upgrade to High Sierra on an Optiplex 3020?
