May I ask if that dimness fix solved the issue? I'm just waiting for an SSD to arrive, and then I will install MacOS on my own G3 3579 (same CPU and GPU as yours). It will be my third hackintosh, but I am by no means an expert. As long as I'm here, I might as well ask if you decided to go with Catalina because you determined that it was impossible to get the dGPU running on High Sierra. I've seen mixed information about that, but nothing definite. Let me know how your system is running! Thanks :)
