  1. Dell Precision 7520 Motherboard/Laptop model: ‎PRM7520-SBR03 CPU: i7-7920HQ GPU: Intel HD630 graphics (dGPU disabled) RAM: 32 GB Audio Codec: ? alc-id 13 Ethernet Card: ? Wifi/BT Card: AC 8265 OS: Catalina 10.5.7 After using my hackintosh for about a year, I ran into this issue today. I F12ed into my BIOS and booted my my macOS hard drive through Opencore (0.6.5 version) and instead of booting how it usually did, it would load the apple logo with the black screen, then the white bar would load halfway and then my fans would woosh and then my computer would shut off, nothing has changed since the last time I booted the macOS hard drive besides a Windows update. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!!! As of now im considering getting a new a Catalina bootloader with 0.7.8 and hoping for the best. here is the last thing my debug USB stick prints out before it shuts down:
  2. No, I had it on but it didn't boot with the new SSDTs you gave me, so I went back to a vanilla EFI from a bootable stick I made a couple weeks ago and it worked. I was trying to troubleshoot something else but I realized that in the About My Mac I could see my Graphics display correctly, so I moved my bootable sticks EFI to the main one, patched some things and I got pretty much everything except HDMI (haven't tested) and trackpad (can get it to work but messes up my Windows trackpad usage AND cannot get all the gestures i want like zoom, 3-4 finger gestures, etc) BIOS SETTINGS: The only BIOs settings I changed were enabling Switchable Graphics, and enabling Enable Dock Display Port through IntegratedGraphics, though I'm not sure that last one is necessary as I enabled it on accident; it runs nonetheless. KEXTS: Kexts were too big to upload into the EFI so I posted a screenshot of what I used, everything is up to date. (I use CPUFriend but CpuTscSync should work just fine however I havent tested it) WHAT WORKS: Audio, Wifi (with Heliport), and disabling dGPU have all been patched in this EFI partition. Ethernet works if needed Works seamlessly with the Apple Magic Trackpad. WHAT DOESNT WORK: Trackpad does not work (I have a setup of SSDTs and DSDT that can run the trackpad but it messes up the trackpad use on Windows, I can link if requested) Audio jack does not work, a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter will work just fine however (I havent tested it but regular USB to 3.5mm should work just fine as well.) MISC: Have not tested HDMI, but will update this post when I do. Thank you Jake for your assistance, I appreciate it a lot. Precision7520EFI.zip UPDATE: Touchscreen works with VoodooI2C and VoodooHID, it uses the same set of SSDTs and DSDT as the built in touchpad (Built in touchpad uses VoodooPS2 iirc), you can only get the touchpad OR touchscreen to work at a time this way, never both. Im still looking into a solution to have at least basic functionality on touchpad with Mac (none to basic gestures) without breaking the Windows trackpad stuff. I have Windows and Mac on two seperate hard drives btw, not on the same, but it still breaks Windows functionality, if I ever get any new information on that I'll update this thread.
  3. Update: I was able to get it running with switchable graphics enabled by using an older EFI partition, not exactly sure why it works but it does, I can link my EFI and BIOs settings if anyone has the same issues I do.
  4. It seems that graphical acceleration is on as my system doesnt feel laggy and everything is running smoothly. (Chess rotating works fine, crtl-up/down to switch around is smooth)
  5. on my BIOs it shows i7-7920HQ CPU @3.10Ghz
  6. Here is the specs sheet from the Dell website I believe my processor is Kaby Lake generation
  7. All I see the Apple logo on boot and black bar with no progress. I tested with and without VTX on and got the same result. (switchable graphics always on) The common thing I notice happen is that whenever I enable switchable graphics, the hack doesn't boot. However if i disable it or enable VTX with what u suggest it will boot but the Graphics wont display my iGPU properly.
  8. Recently I have been working on this Hackintosh and realized that sometimes the top of the Safari tabs get a bit of screen tearing, but also that whenever using Logic Pro X, the white line which goes across the screen to represent time passing doesn't render properly, it will only update the render when you spam click the mouse. After doing some research I realized that it was a graphics issue and that on my About My Mac settings, under Graphics it only shows Display 8 MB and I have been trying to troubleshoot this so that it will recognize my iGPU (it wont recognize my dGPU as it is NVIDIA) Linked down below is a screenshot of the issue I'm having, and the EFI file I'm using. With VTX turned on in my BIOS I was able to get a boot up with SSDT-Disable-DGPU.aml, but was still having this same issue. When I tried enabling Switchable Graphics at all it would not boot. Anyone have any suggestions or pointers to help me solve my issue? Current EFI.zip
