You'll need to replace or add graphics kext from High Sierra each time you update

  4. Hey Jake ! Could you help me to fix some errors on a Lenovo Thinkpad E470 ? I've followed the guide but I cannot fix some details like brightness, sound, battery. I'd be more thankful than ever.

  5. Hi Jake, I tried to create a 16GB usb stick for a fresh Moj installation on a dell. I followed all the steps described in the instructions but I am not lucky in getting a USB stick that boots into macOS installation. Clover starts, but then after selecting USB stick nothing happens except for the white apple logo on the screen for several minutes until I force shut down my dell. I also notice that the file structure on the stick just has 1 visible file "Install macOS Mojave.app" which looks a bit strange to me, see screenshot. Is the content of my usb stick ok or what may I have done wrong when creating the USB stick? Any idea? many thanks.

it's correct when building with command line. some files are hidden.

hold shift + option+ .  (dot) to show files hidden files

post your Clover folder. I believe issue is with the Clover installer. use this one

  7. Hallo Jake Lo,
Thank you for all of your valuable help in this forum! I have followed your guides step by step and because I have a very specific question I sent this pm to you.

I am trying to install Mojave on my E5450 Latitude. It has 16 GB Ram and Nvidia 830 M discrete graphics. But the audio is not working, discrete card is not recognized and I cannot change any display settings (brightness, resolution) of HD5500.

I have installed the Bootpack Exx50_Mojave and added SSDT-Disable-DGPU.aml.zip
    As you have explained here:
    https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/8514-dell-latitude-e7450-clover-uefi-only/?tab=comments#comment-86791

I have also tried another advice of yours in this topic:
    https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/11050-success-dell-e5450-mojave-fine-tuning/
and installed the bootpack E5450_HD5500_Mojave. But it didn't work either.

I have also replaced the lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext with the newest versions (1.3.6 and 1.2.9 respectively) with no avail.

    1
Which bootpack do you advice to use?
    2
Do you reccomend to use those latest kexts?
    3
When I update a kext, do I need to modify the config.plist file in the bootpack?

    Greetings,
    Taccano

Just install to /L/E, not /S/L/E

      no, that error is normal.

no touchpad because appleps2controller is a generic mouse kext. there's no current kext for Alps that's working at least not to my standard. you could try Dr.Hurt's Alps Refined kext. if you want to try it. you can find it in our forum.

But 2 fingers scrolling works, tap to drag works. 2 fingers right click works. that's enough for me

as for sound I don't have that issue after sleep. you could try adding codeccommander.kext to /L/E

      1) No hackintosh does not support Optimus. Even if you got the driver working, it won't be usable, no switching possibility in Hackintosh. so better to disable it to save energy. Unless you can set it in the BIOS to only use Nvidia, perhaps then you can boot with only Nvidia.

      2) No unless you update the kexts in /L/E or /S/L/E which needs to repair permissions and rebuild cache. If in Clover kext, nothing needs to be done.

      replace Config.plist with this one

if it's still doesn't work, I need to see the IOREgistryExplorer file. The debug you attached didn't have it.

Launch IORegistryExplorer.app. Save the file and attach it here.

  14. Ciao Jake

Scusami se scrivo in Italiano ma in Inglese mi verrebbe male.

Ho installato MOJAVE su DELL E6320 cpu i7 Sandy Bridge e Scheda video Intel HD3000.

Sono riuscito a far funzionare la scheda grafica (384 Mbyte di NVRAM).

Ho problemi con Itunes ed apple store.

    Itunes va in crash

Apple store non mi fa accedere con il mio account.

Ho utilizzato il tuo pacchetto E6230-Mojave

Aggiungo che il PC risulta inserito nel programma di developer di apple.....sarà quello?

    1. Jake Lo

      Jake Lo

Hmm, E6320 and E6230 are 2 very different series models.

Yours is SandyBridge with HD3000, E6230 is IvyBridge HD4000.

Mojave has drop support for your HD3000 unless you use graphics kexts from High Sierra.

Could be the reason your iTune crashed. As for AppleStore, make sure to generate new SmBIOS using Clover Configurator.

Best to stick with High Sierra than running Mojave.

if you have high resolution, use the DSDT-2ch.aml but rename it to DSDT.aml

if low resolution, use DSDT.aml as is.

      Resolution means the display resolution
