berkaius Do you have your BIOS patched too (as mypearl_tw)? If yes, try to set KernelPm to false OR flash original unpatched BIOS.

berkaius Try booting without caches but with injected kexts. tobitronics Wifi has to be replaced with supported model. AR9485 will not work ever. KB backlight works fine.

Hibernation is disabled (I use SSD), so those who wanna try it must change NeverHibernate in config.plist to false, but we aware: I haven't even tried it, not tested at all. Please keep me informed about any issue related to my configuration. tobitronics In fact system is stable and in good condition now. The only serious issue for me is random instant wake from sleep when using xhci enabled. Another but minor issue is BT's behaviour - it won't turn off with fn+f2. As for 10.10, well, the upgrade will bring a lot of problems for this Hack, I'm sure. But personally I'm good with 10.9, and see no reason to try 10.10. But only just for fun.

@berkaius: Could you attach boot log or error screenshot? Anyhow I will upload Clover directory in two or three days - need some time to optimize settings and wipe unnecessary files.

The latest DSDT. In config pls set DropOEMSSDT to true. Make sure no other ssdt is present in "patched" directory with this dsdt - nvidia disabling is included in dsdt itself. XHCI may be enabled in bios - sleep works fine. DSDT.aml.zip

It lets you disable nvidia card for better battery life if used with additional ssdt. You can find both files attached. Just place them to the directory named "patched". Remember: I use only 2 fixes in Clover dsdt section: NewWay_80000000 and FixRegions_10000000; DropOem=false. Sorry for all this mess. BTW, I'm not the author of various fixes. I just test different configurations and talk to other people in order to find and resolve issues. Regarding newer Clover A good way is to replace config.plist, dsdt in folder named "patched", then install the Clover update (enable EmuVariableUEFI-64.efi too, by the way). Don't search for or edit nvram plist if you haven't touched it yet. 1st of all simply post your Boot section of Clover plist here (using Spoiler tag of course).

That's impossible IMHO. You've removed only "-v" from bootargs and now you've got no option "Boot Mac OS X" in Clover GUI? You might have done something else...

Well, assumed you've read the thread I linked to (next to the link to kexts) you should have no questions regarding dsdt. Anyway, kext which won't work w/o editing dsdt is Asus FN keys kext. You have to edit dsdt if you want to see keyboard lights, screen backlight control and correct Fn-keys processing at all. And that's not that difficult. Instead you can use foreign dsdt provided in my Clover archive if you don't want to mess with ediing your own dsdt, but be ready to face problems 'cause the use of foreign dsdt is not a good choice too (i.g. you can face some issues caused by OperationRegion). However, ATM I'm trying to implement binary dsdt patches with Clover. For now, I have figured out how to fix KBD lights, screen backlight control, and battery. But I have no idea how to fix sleep problem and I'm planning to study this matter. So as soon as I fix sleep I will provide binary patches for Clover and from that time there won't be any reason to use pre-edited dsdt. As for the second question asked here... Yes I have iCloud iMessage etc working. My counterquestion: can you successfully pass the check on Apple site? If not, then your SMBIOS is wrong and you have to use correct serial number. If you can pass but you have issues anyway check if you have Apple ID and credit card binded with your ID. A good option is to boot with Chameleon, write down system UUID and put it to Clover's config. Read Clover's manual!

A bunch of kexts I use ATM, some need dsdt edits as per this thread. Please note that you'd better use your default dsdt with Clover patches and binary patches than use my dsdt (which isn't mine in fact - I have issues too). 'Cause I'm kinda noob in dsdt editing scope I cannot provide you with good examples of disabling NVidia device, keyboard backlight etc dsdt edits but refer to the dsdt included to my Clover config - things that are not good there are nvidia disabling and screen brightness. Everything else (e.g. battery, sound - including but not limited to the sole subwoofer, touchpad, lan etc.) should work fine so with such an example one may implement his own Clover binary patches or tune his own dsdt - that depends on your choice. Oh, and one more thing: AppleHDA provided in the archive is working but only with dsdt edits. Also it's based on 10.9 version so it's not the latest... Anyhow I'm using Voodoo so AppleHDA kext is just for reference only for those who want to dig deeper.

I have N550JV too and your keyboard backlight kexts always worked fine with DSDT patches attached to the first post. Maybe noops0 haven't enabled kb backlight in info.plist?

Can't upload updated files and config guys because I have issues with the latest Elan keyboard or smth else. Need some time to test it...

The next update of the files will contain another smbios (for Mac-3CBD00234E554E41.plist – MacBookPro11,2), so please prepare your system for changes (add Mac-3CBD00234E554E41 and MacBookPro11,2 to /System/Library/CoreServicesPlatformSupport.plist), then you can use my clover files. And then you will be able to update to 10.9.1 (build 13B3116). No need in cusom kernel, no need in patched bios, just make sure you have KernelPm option in your config.plist set to true. Of course you can use another Macmodel like MacBookPro11,3 with Mac-2BD1B31983FE1663.

Good day. I encourage you to update your Clover with this package. It's rev.2435 and it finally fixes several mistakes with Haswell power management. In addition, please check this patched VoodooHDA which has correct detection of output device (headphones/speakers) depending on the presence of the plug.

This won't work with Clover, IntelAzulFB option is for Chameleon. In Clover one should use ig-platform-id option. Anyway the newest files contain custom DSDT so graphics issues are over now. Link to the latest N550JV config files. No need in custom kernel (which I called mac_kernel previously). Just create installation media, install Clover there and replace its directory with mine. The only bug for now is no sound before sleep when one boots from Windows. Also no brightness control before display sleep. Many thanks to Vincent who helped me A LOT.

Thanks for suggestion, Herve (sry for wrong writing of your name but I have no French keyboard ), it worked! I've found out that XHCI Pre-Boot should be set to Disabled in BIOS Advanced tab. I have USB: Inject - true, AddClockID - true, FixOwnership - false in my Clover settings if it makes sense. BTW I decided to use DropOem - false in order to be able to drop selected tables only. PS: pls note that you should add MacBookPro8,3 serial in SMBIOS section by yourself. Also I've changed several settings as to removal of Kernel option (I use original "mach_kernel" name now - and backed up default kernel by renaming it too) removal of InjectKexts and NoCaches keys - obviously unnecessary if you know what happens when you highlight your selected OS and hit Space key. New Clover folder, pls check my next post.

Booting from usb drive? Just search for TransMac for Windows and install it, then copy your mac_kernel to the root of usb drive. Or use a virtual machine with OS X. Important: Guys, I encourage you to revise your Clover config by omitting "Kernel=mac_kernel" boot option as well as renaming the downloaded mac_kernel back to mach_kernel (rename original mach_kernel to mach_kernel-orig in order avoid its replacement). Download this mach_kernel: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=131161 - unpack, rename it to "mac_kernel" and put it to the root of your usb drive. Then try to boot again. If "error loading kernelcache (0xf)" still persists you'd better create another installation drive by the use of real Mac's (or virtual Mac's) DiskUtility: a) restore BaseSystem.dmg copy Packages folder from InstallESD.dmg to your usb drive /System/Installation.../Packages c) copy downloaded mac_kernel Pls google for the procedures of creating OS X installation drive. Nobody will explain it in details 'cause it's standartized. We use this method because others involve kernelcache which can't be loaded to another kernel which is used to substitute original one. You probably will face the same when you will ry to boot from manually created RecoveryHD, for example.

Hi all, I gonna try to clarify several things. Primo, my UEFI-GUID Clover config (EFI directory) is only for UEFI boot. So, Gons, I cannot help you with MBR-partitioned HDD. You may try to install Clover in legacy mode though (with boot sectors), and use some drivers from my EFI package to make your system/installator boot. In your case the "Lauch CSM" option should be enabled in BIOS, USB stick should have ms-dos table partitions set. Secundo, Battery now works w/o DSDT edit but with VoodooBattery.kext. Tertio, WiFi won't work AFAIK. It should be replaced with another device (leads to warranty voidance however). Also you may try some USB wifi devices. PS: I'd love to see someone's made a good DSDT.aml 'cause personally I hate editing, bugfixing and compiling it. Tip: In order to boot directly from HDD do the following: 1) mount System (disk0s1 AFAIR) with Disk utility 2) goto System's "Boot" directory & copy your "Clover" directory from USB stick here 3) reboot to BIOS and create new boot option (choose Clover/cloverx64.efi). make it first one in the list 4) profit
