Hi,

 

as I installed chameleon I noticed that this called for developer tools. So I cancelt the download and said that I will do that later.

 

Once don I finished chameleon install and booted from the HDD with the fresh Mav install. The nUSB Stick is not connected.

Same here. Booting with the usb stick is ok.

 

but also if you install chameleon wizard the Mav partition boots ok.

Ethernet seems to work on Mavericks. So I will not invest more time on ML and wait for Mavericks to work.

Hi,

 

OK I have reinstalled Mavericks and all as before.

 

I ndownloaded EDP and installed it. It called to install additional software. I chose to install xcode. Once that finished I tried to run edp which failed.

I reinstalled EDP and it opend OK. I chose the model etc and clicked on do build.

Then it taked one minute or 2 and the notebook freezes. I hat do hard reset the Notebook. From then onwards the notebook does not boot anymore. Only way to fix that is is reinstall Mavericks....

 

Do you have a suggestion?

 

Do I have to install xcode or something else for EDP`?

 

Please advise.

Hi All,

 

I tried to install Maverics on my m4300 using MyHack.

 

To create the USB Stick was as easy as usual. Many thanks for the great work.

 

After the install finished it does not restart. ( I read that this is mostly not restarting )

 

But all went well and it boots well after I installed chameleon with the latest version.

 

I do not get sound support in Mavericks. OK, I thought I need to install EDP anyway.

 

And that causes issues. EDP needs to downlad svn or something from apple before ist does open at all.

 

Once I choose the model etc, EDP fails to load the window with status updates etc. I needed to kill EDP and reboot.

 

But from then onwards it did not boot and can not be brought to install chameleon again. The only thing that helps is to reinstall mavericks.

 

But I can not update the drivers using EDP.

 

What did I do wrong?

 

Any suggestion?

the bcm5722D is in the M4300 edp default. Its in Lat's 630 and 830 as well.

Hi, I tougth that the M4300 ( with sticker) is a centrino and therefore the network adapter would be all intel, or is it not?

normally I use WiFi. Yesterday I learned that the notebooks ethernet adapter is not detected.

I notmaly did not load special drivers and last time ( some time ago) ethernet worked.

I have checked the systems prefs and there is none detected. I have tried diffrent intel ones out of the edp package but non worked.

 

Any suggesteions?

Hi as Hervé said,

 

the resolution ist suported oob (no patching needed). The supplied wifi card was not supportet so I purchased a airport extreem card that will work without modification.

 

I think it is a pretty good Notebook with a good relation in price and performance.

sorry but I have every now and then a kernel Panic and the snd HDD in the Modular bay gets some times unmounted by the system.

 

It seems to be fast, but the kernel panics get on my nervs.

 

I am running 3.1 now. Why is it so bad with 3.1?

4.1 does not be the right one.

 

O have it running too hot from time to time. It ejects the 2nd HDD eratic.

Boot failliors etc.

I have a 2nd HDD in my modular bay so I use a external USB BD/DVD Burner as well for Playback of Video DVDs.

 

But the MAC DVD Player gives me an initialization error when it tries to playback a Video DVD.

 

When I take the 2nd HDD out and swap it with the original DVD Burner to play the DVD back all is fine.

 

Is there a fix for it?

I try to modify the fakesmc to match the system better.

 

I checked apples web page and found the MBP 4.1 matching the best (my CPU is a T9300 2.5 GHz).

 

The SMC is 1.28f3.

 

But I can not fine a way to figure the REV code out??

 

How can I calculate the right valur to modify the fake smc file?

no it does not make a diffrence if the 2nd HDD is in or not.

I have wiped the HDD and instelled MAC os from scratch.

Now at least the Notebook shuts down ok.

 

But I am still testing the 2nd HDD. After a while in use the HDD develops issues. I habe tried the HDD in my D620 to see if it behaves the same and it does not make a diffrence. That is why I thought the Notebooks do not work will with SATA as 2nd HDD.

 

I ordered another caddy to see if it solves the3 problem.
