  1. Tnx for that reply Herve. I figured it would be difficult, but I'm glad I was at least able to get it to boot. I do have an XPS M1530 that I'll be putting ML on as soon as I get a new MB for it. Seems my Nvidia fix has finally failed so as soon as that comes it I'll put this D630 back to Lion and use the M1530 for ML. Again thank you for a great guide. And all your hard work.
  2. YES.... :D Followed your guide probably 3 times, but it is easy to miss something. But taking it one step at a time made it worked. I tricked the app store into DLing Mountain Lion from my previous install of Lion on my D630 as it initially said ML could not be installed on this PC. It's working Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Issues: 1. Won't boot without the USB stick and starting with arch=x86_64. I did edit the com.apple.boot.plist with kernel info but still it won't start without the USB. 2. Screensaver just displays white screen, and my resolution is only 1024x768. I can see the screensaver from System Preferences and Preview does work. 3. WiFi doesn't work but that's only cause it's an Intel-4965. I think I have one that will work, but Yukon works fine. Current config is: Processor: 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 2.5 GB 667Mhz DDR1 SDRAM Graphics: Intel GMA X3100 HDD: 160G I did run EDP using the D630 - x3100 - 1280x1024. Thank you for the guide as it's the only one that got me going. Tnx
  3. OOPS it was a VGA port. I have 2 laptops and 2 pc's on my desk, so it's easy to mix them up. My other laptop - Toshiba - has dvi, VGA and S-Video. (it doesn't work with OSX I'm still getting periodic crashes requiring restart. Mostly when mouse related I think. Not sure what to do about it, except reboot. I haven't lost any data. I may look around and see if there is a mouse (I use the USB port) kext that will fix it. But first I'm gonna do a cache repair as I've see in Bronxteck's post to you. I don't use the track pad and I also have an external USB keyboard. To wake up I just hit the space bar.
  4. Lattitude D630 / T7250 2.0GHz / 2.5Gb RAM/160Gb HDD /X3100 Video Working wired Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx / WiFi (Dell 1490) OSX=LION 10.7.1 Dual monitors - 24" via DVI port (not docked) with laptop screen as secondary, USB Keyboard and Mouse also work. USB install using dog from Apples' Lion Thumb drive and copied mach_kernel (from Lion Thumb drive) to HDD and installed Chameleon RC5 also on HDD Drivers (Kext): my.name.adlan.BCM5722 (1) org.voodoo.driver.PS2Controller (1.1.0) org.voodoo.driver.PS2Keyboard (1.1.0) org.voodoo.driver.PS2Trackpad (1.1.0) org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA (2.7.2) Sleep enabler: sk.triaxis.kext.SleepEnabler (1.0.0) Power: org.tgwbd.driver.NullCPUPowerManagement (1.0.0d2) org.netkas.FakeSMC (3.1.0)
  5. I, not using a dock, just a direct connect to the DVI. So it's dual screen using my 24" as the main and laptop as secondary. Tnx for that fix on the 1.8 vx 2.0GHz. s ee attached...... Also those two PS2 kexts I loaded seemed to have fixed my intermittent crashes. And I'm also running Xcode 4.1 build 4B110. No crashes for the last 24hrs. Also since reboot on the first kext Wizard freeze up the prg has been running great.
  6. Yes I did update to 10.7.1 no major issues. Used VoodooHDA-2.7.2,pkg for sound, as the latest version doesn't play well with the trackpad or keyboard. I'm using a Dell USB Keyboard so I don't use the trackpad, and a USB mouse (although the scroll wheel is backwards). EDIT: Fixed in mouse config, by unchecking option box at top when scrolling or navigating. As for the dual monitor, the 2405 Dell is via the DVI port. I did have some other shutdowns while using Kext Wizard for some kext installs. But I think I'll also try to install that sleep enabler and maybe the battery manager. Although the sleep seems to be working ok. I just can't see the battery. I have had a few freezes when I'm working on the 24" and that may be video driver not able to keep up with all the windows and stress I'm placing on the video memory. I may be related to my quick mouse movements, but haven't tried to analyze it yet. Too busy making iPhone apps, which is why I wanted this to work since I'm a Microsoft Professional... oops bad word.... EDIT: Just replaced a couple of kext's AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and ApplePS2Controller.kext ... reboot.... we'll see if that fixes the random freeze with the mouse.
  7. Thank you for the quick workup on installing Lion on my D630. Added the BCM5722 kext and VoodooHDA for my network and sound now I have a MacBook. Yipeeeee!

  8. I actually followed simeonoff post #9. Followed it to a tee only copying the mach_kernal from the lion.dmg to my installed drive. no problems with any video. and I'm running A17 with X3100.
  9. All I can say is WOW.... Lion on my D630 x3100, CPU=T7250 with 2.5G memory This tutorial was a dream, I tried iFail, Kalliway, and numerous other ways, but the 8G USB drive worked. THANK YOU simeonoff. for that shortcut to make it all work. After install, installed Chameleon R5 you listed onto the installed drive and copied the mach_kernal on to the installed drive. Network Broadcom NetXtrem 57xx Gig working with BCM5722D.kext, WiFi working OOB Sound working with VoodooHDA-2.7.2,pkg TrackPad and keyboard working with your Lion Extra External USB keyboard and mouse working OOB, Dual monitors working 1280x800 on laptop, and 1920x1200 (Dell 2405FPW). OOB Thank you
