  1. Does anyone use their D620 with a docking station? Do you have it working with 10.6.8 or 10.7 ? I can't get mine to work. As soon as it boots (the boot-up screen is fine) the display goes black on a Dell monitor. I suspect it has something to do with the lid being closed and the sleep function? I can't get past 10.6.2 which works fine.
  2. Well, to make a long story short, I tried upgrading and pooched my installation. Try as I might, I couldn't get my docking station to work with 10.6.6 or 10.6.8 which is no good for me. I suspect it's something to do with sleep or hibernation? I tried to do a fresh install and I got kernel panic with the leppy's swap disk. What's up with that? I tried to reformat with Mac and DOS. Same result? What to do?
  3. I'm at 10.6.2 now. What happens if I run the EDP 1.9 Before the 10.6.8 update? Or is that putting the cart before the horse so to speak?
  4. Thanks for the advice! I'm hoping I won't have any video problems. I tried an update before (forget which one) and had pixelation so bad I had to start over. This is my first Mac. Really diggin it so far!
  5. Thanks, but if you're right about the clean install (and I'm not doubting that you are), I think I'll just stick with 6.2 and be satisfied for now. Thanks for the reply.
  6. Did the heat sink work, or did you have to replace that too?

    Upgrading

I hope to get some advice about upgrading. I've successfully installed 10.6.2 on my D620 and everything is working very well. From what I have read, from this point it gets a little dicey. I'd rather upgrade as opposed to doing a fresh install so I can save all my current settings. Can I upgrade to say 10.7 or .8 and then just copy the correct E.D.P. folder to my install? Am I on the right track in my thinking? I appreciate any advice I can get.
