  1. That did it!  I was able to finally install Mountain Lion.  It was whatever missing KEXT in the D830 NVIDIA bootpack.

The GUI installer did complain (at the end of the hard drive installation) that it was unable to reboot  I just rebooted using the USB install key and ran the latest EDP (easy as pie!)

Thank you (everyone) for your support!!

  2. Hello Everyone,

trying to install ML on a D830 with NVS140M Video Card (1600x1050). BIOS is A16

Any boot options that I've tried have failed. The installer stops at [ PCI configuration begin ].

    Tried with all these boot options (to no avail)....PciRoot=1, CPUS=1, npci=0x2000, ncpi=0x3000, mach_kernel, -v -f -x....

    Using the myHack method.

I've also copied over the IOPCIFamily.kext (as per the myHack guide) and ran the Full myFix on the USB installer key but the installer does not boot?? HELP!!!

    Again.....at a loss!!!

  4. UPDATE:

Tried to install EDP 2.2 and that messed up a few components (keyboard, mouse and track pad no longer working).

So went ahead and re-installed from scratch. Now I'm back to square 1 (all is working except LAN card).

Do you guys have kext (drivers) for the nVidia D830 LAN card? Do you think I would need any other drivers at this point besides this one?

All your help is deeply appreciated!

OK! OSX Lion is installed. Not going to bother to install 10.7.4 update yet. All peripherals work great (even the Broadcom 4311 Wifi card...right out of the box!)) except the LAN card. Should I still apply EDP 2.2 package? I'm afraid at this point.......

Yes the absence of the LAN card is the only thing that I've noticed so far...the rest looks great and the resolution is awesome (better than my last D630 w/Intel Graphics)!

THX again. Please let me know how to proceed from here in order to get the LAN card to work.

    Take care!

  6. Hello Syonagar,

it looks the D830s (nVidia or Intel) are no longer listed in the supported bootpacks. Can you please confirm (or post a link to the right bootpack)?

    THX!

OK Looking good so far....the install GUI has started and it's installing!! YEAH!!

This is what I did (used myHack 3.1):

    - installed D830 nVidia boot pack (even though it's not listed in this new site as I've noted in my initial post...it's listed in another page)

    - ran myFix (used FULL MODE, not quick mode) onto the USB install key

    - booted with boot options "mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f"

...fingers crossed......all is looking good so far. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

    THX again gentlemen!!
