  1. Yep looks like that might have been it. Removed that kext and so far each shutdown/reboot looks to take normal amount of time. THX again Herve´!
  2. One more question....every other time I shut down the OS take about 5 minutes to shut down (just shows a white screen with the mouse cursor present).....then the spinning 'beach ball' is shown and then it shut downs. Any thoughts? Should I start another thread? THX again! JD31
  3. BTW...do you guys (or Herve) know what KEXT was missing from this bootback?
  4. That did it! I was able to finally install Mountain Lion. It was whatever missing KEXT in the D830 NVIDIA bootpack. The GUI installer did complain (at the end of the hard drive installation) that it was unable to reboot I just rebooted using the USB install key and ran the latest EDP (easy as pie!) Thank you (everyone) for your support!!
  5. Hello Herve, THAT WORKED! It looks like newest bootpack from this site gets past the [ PCI Configuration Begin] screen and into the ML installer GUI! I'm now in the process of installing ML!!!! Excellent work! I'll post my end result once I'm done. THX again and take care. JD31
  6. THX Herve! I'll try it in the AM tomorrow to see how it goes. So far nothing with all the suggestions above. BTW I was given a modified DSDT zip file....how would I add/prep the files contained in the ZIP file onto the USB key?
  7. Hello Bronxteck...same thing! Stuck at [ PCI Configuration begin] Any special boot options? I'm basically just booting in 'verbose' mode.
  8. THX Bronxteck! I'll try it first thing tomorrow and let you know. JD31
  9. Downloaded legit copy from App Store but still nothing!!
  10. I'll also email them to the email address indicated in the post. THX everyone again for all your help on this one!!!! JD31 d830.zip
  11. In the process of doing so......since the hard drive has no OS installed, had to install Windows to get this process going......give me a few and I'll get back to you! thx!
  12. Bump.....waiting for someone to help!!! Does anyone have a custom Bootpack that will work?
  13. Nope...same thing. Stuck at PCI Configuration Begin..... My USB key is a SanDisk Cruzer U3......after a while it goes into a pulsating mode (like it's asleep)....that's all that happens. I've also tried with 2 different USB keys and same outcome!
  14. Hello Bronxteck, yep I'm using a stock 10.8.2 image that was purchase/downloaded from the App Store. Still nothing! Hard disk is using AHCI mode. A16 BIOS. Any particular boot settings I should use? Also any special kexts I can use/patch to my USB installer? I'm at a loss!
  15. Hello Everyone, trying to install ML on a D830 with NVS140M Video Card (1600x1050). BIOS is A16 Any boot options that I've tried have failed. The installer stops at [ PCI configuration begin ]. Tried with all these boot options (to no avail)....PciRoot=1, CPUS=1, npci=0x2000, ncpi=0x3000, mach_kernel, -v -f -x.... Using the myHack method. I've also copied over the IOPCIFamily.kext (as per the myHack guide) and ran the Full myFix on the USB installer key but the installer does not boot?? HELP!!! Again.....at a loss!!!
  16. I'm having the same issue.....stuck at PCI Configuration Begin.......
  17. Hello Flinch987 (and all the other GURUs!), I'm in the same boat as you are (were).....I'm stuck at the.... ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] [ PCI Configuration begin ] I'm trying to install Mountain Lion on a D830 with nVidia Graphics (1600x1000).....using the myHack installer. What boot options did you use? I've also copied over the IOPCIFamily.kext (as per the myHack guide) and ran the Full myFix on the USB installer key but the installer does not boot?? HELP!!! How do I proceed??? HELP!!!HELP!!!HELP!!!HELP!!!
  18. THX everyone. After running myFix in full mode a few times, all is well!!!!
  19. Hello Syonagar, no I did not. Ok, I'll try that. THX! What steps would I take?: - install EDP 2.2 - run /Extra/edptool script - run myHack (my Fix Full mode) ??
  20. UPDATE: Tried to install EDP 2.2 and that messed up a few components (keyboard, mouse and track pad no longer working). So went ahead and re-installed from scratch. Now I'm back to square 1 (all is working except LAN card). Do you guys have kext (drivers) for the nVidia D830 LAN card? Do you think I would need any other drivers at this point besides this one? All your help is deeply appreciated! JD31
  21. OK! OSX Lion is installed. Not going to bother to install 10.7.4 update yet. All peripherals work great (even the Broadcom 4311 Wifi card...right out of the box!)) except the LAN card. Should I still apply EDP 2.2 package? I'm afraid at this point....... Yes the absence of the LAN card is the only thing that I've noticed so far...the rest looks great and the resolution is awesome (better than my last D630 w/Intel Graphics)! THX again. Please let me know how to proceed from here in order to get the LAN card to work. Take care! JD31
  22. OK Looking good so far....the install GUI has started and it's installing!! YEAH!! This is what I did (used myHack 3.1): - installed D830 nVidia boot pack (even though it's not listed in this new site as I've noted in my initial post...it's listed in another page) - ran myFix (used FULL MODE, not quick mode) onto the USB install key - booted with boot options "mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f" ...fingers crossed......all is looking good so far. I'll keep you posted on my progress. THX again gentlemen!! JD31
