  1. Jake, That got me over that hurdle completely, typing this on 10.13.6 right now! Thank you very much! As a general note, I tried setting up the install USB on VMware originally, the EFI partition would not show up as "EFI" but "No Name", so if anyone else runs into this issue and finds this topic, please keep that in mind.
  2. Here is the Clover folder from the USB installer. Thank you very much for your time. CLOVER.zip
  3. Hello OSX Latitude, I recently bought an e5450, with the intent to put HS on it. I followed the guide found here for Dells. I updated to BIOS A19, installed the broadwell intel graphics fix and lilu kexts went into /clover/kexts/others. I installed everything into the EFI partition of my MacOS High Sierra. I am setting this up via my D630, so I've got a "native" Mac to work with rather than VMWare, which I tried but it made things a bit weird. Specs: Dell E5450 i5-5200U, HD 5500 8GB RAM (1x8GB) 256GB SSD DW 1560 E Port A19 BIOS During the install, it gets stuck after booting into Clover and launching the installer. I can run it with F4, but I don't know which file to attach. Thanks for your help OSXL
  4. Once I finally redid the install disk, by going back to SL on my D630, a few times(ugh) I was able to install ML. I updated chameleon like you suggested, and voila, seemless boot into ML! In case anyone runs into problems like I encountered, I was unable to buy Mountain Lion through the app store since it wasn't compatible. I do believe this was brought about by a 10.6.0 install disk defaulting SL to 32 bit. I updated the smbios with Chameleon Wizard along with forcing 64 bit in the same program. A restart had the issue resolved. The error once it was installed and booting to boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: error Was resolved by booting into the flash drive(f12, USB storage device) and then selecting options before it finalised the boot into it, then selecting the Macintosh HD. Once in I downloaded Chameleon as was suggested, and ran it. The issue of the Mountain Lion install not even starting and failing was resolved by redownloading Mountain Lions installesd.dmg and then remaking the install drive.
  5. That's more or less what I did to make it work, Now just stuck in a boot loop. I know for a fact that I applied a Full Myfix to the install media prior to installing. But I guess I'll try it again. If I boot to the USB, then to the Hard Drive after selecting options, I can get into the Operating system. EDIT: Reinstalled Same thing as before, Without the drive in, it goes past the Dell splash screen boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: error So I restarted and booted to the flash drive, selected the Macintosh HD during the boot options, and then was able to boot into Mountain Lion. Redid the installer, Wouldn't even start the installation. Redoing the installer once more. It's being done with MyHack 3.1.2, on my Mini9 with 10.6.7 Once again I've reformatted the USB, reinstalled with MyHack 3.1.2, downloaded the Extra folder off the compatibility chart, and ran Full MyFix, I am still unable to get it to start installing. BIOS Settings are set up to be the compatible ones as per the guides on this site. I cannot post the log since the screen just freezes, then refreshes with the Save Log, View Log etc options every few seconds. TL;DR I wiped my install media, started anew and took a few steps backwards.
  6. Now excuse this silly question, but I am wondering how to get ML. I'd like to purchase it through the app store. I have a SL install on 10.6.8. It's running a C2D T7500 @ 2.2ghz with 4MB Cache, 3GB DDR2 667, and an Nvidia NV135 graphics card. But, every time I try to purchase is through the app store in SL, I cannot buy it since my laptop is not compatible. I've updated through "software update" rather than the combo update. This computer is 64 bit capable, I'm not sure what's not working. EDIT: It appears 64 bit extensions isn't enabled. It was installed off of a 10.6.0 image. EDIT: Tried changing the extensions through terminal, KP. Retried with multifail, system is now showing 64 bit extensions in Terminal and System Profile Still unable to buy ML I edited the smbios to say that it's a MB 4,1, still no luck there. edit: I updated to a MB 5,1 through the smbios.plist. That seemed to do the trick, so it has been purchased and downloaded!

    Greetings

Well to update this, I finally got my hands on the D630. So after I fixed my Mini by ruining the NBI with EDP, I tried it on the 630 with SL, to update to ML. I was able to install with a 10.6.0 install image with the latest version of EDP.

    Greetings

I got my D620 running SL, throwing on the 10.6.8 combo update as I write this. I had to reflash my BCM 4312 for it to be recognised as an Airport Extreme, the first time I did it I was sloppy with the vendor ids, so it worked fine in my mini hackintosh, but not the D620, it replaced a BCM 4311. It's very interesting the amount of progress towards a working machine in contrast with the mini. My mini works very well, but its manually editing dsdt.aml and individually applying new kexts. There is a thing thats like EDP called Netbook Installer, and that includes chameleon. We'll see what updating to 10.6.8 brings, every update on a mini is a bit tense, and youll want to run NBI ASAP afterwards. Just contrasting the differences, I'm liking how complete things feel with the Latitude though. What do people typically use theirs for? novelty, a mac replacement, a way to try out OS X to get a mac? EDIT boots, killed wireless. EDIT AGAIN Repaired permissions, back up and running!
  9. That sounds pretty cool! Take pictures and post a log here!

An update to my situation on the 64 bit processor front. I'm swapping my newly acquired D620 for my old D630 I gave to my rents, who word process and browse the internet, so I'll be able to install Lion and have some more graphics power, my main gripe about my mini. So I won't really have much til then. C2D T7500 2GB DDR2 160GB HDD WXGA+ Screen NVS 135M Really looking forward to DSDT implanted into the BIOS!

    Greetings

Thank you! I've uploaded the .dxf of the Apple logo I used. It's a CAD file, so if need be a trial of autoCAD or ArchiCAD is a free version of CAD. Don't quote me on that, I've never used it. But, it was a lot of trial and error positioning it and sizing it correctly. Also it was the first time I ran the laser cutter, so I did a poor job of it. After it had all been cut out of the lid, I cut out some white acrylic, 1/8th thick, and epoxied it all in. Since then I've purchased a new lid, and some much thinner acrylic, white and clear, I'll be giving it a go with some methane chloride to adhere it all together. My familiarity with a laser cutter goes up to 60W, so cutting metal is something I'm not used to. If this was still deemed good to know and valuable I can write it up in it's own topic.

    Greetings

Hello everyone, I'm Brett, a 22 year old student studying architecture. I work for the school as a lab tech, helping with laptops, hardware issues, os software issues and programs relevant to the degree. I just acquired a Dell D620 for the princely sum of 40 USD, for the sole purpose of hackintoshing it. I'm not a big stranger to hackintoshing. I've a Dell Mini 9 that's running 10.6.7, working bluetooth on it, sleep works, microphone works. I flashed the Broadcom card to show up as an Airport Extreme. I laser cut the back out to remove the "DELL" circle to an Apple logo. It even lights up. I'm no stranger to the Latitude D-range, I had a D620 years prior, it met its demise with some soup. A D630 replaced it, and that was further replaced by a Precision M4500 I'll be reading the forums for info on putting 10.7.x on my D620, but if there's anything else, or anything just neat I should know, please do. REVISED I am aware that my processor is not 64 bit, I may just buy a new board as a USB port is shot, along with a T7200, and the HSF. Do the D620s have the same issues of frying Nvidia cards as do the D630s? That or swap it with my old D630 I gave to my rents to use for browsing the web.
