  1. Ha. So I used the wizard to put those flags in, and manually edited the plist file to add the IntelCapriFB bit...

Now I'm booting and sitting at a Mac Logo with a spinning wheel (not the colored one) and it's not booting into my system.

    Before rebooting, everything worked fine.

I very much appreciate the help you guys are giving me. Everything seems to be going smoothly, just have a few bumps I need to figure out.

Booting with the manual flags worked, so I'm going to try again.. see what happens.

  2. It's up... it's stable... Wifi doesn't work yet, but I've not looked into it.

So.. basic question here. I had to boot the system with the following flags:

    -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes ncpi=0x2000 IntelCapriFB=3

How do I go about making that default so I don't have to enter it every time I boot?

  3. Fn+Up brought the image up.. Excellent. I login and can mess around a bit... Then a few seconds in.. all goes black. I use Fn+Pause and it comes back, relogin... mess around for a few seconds.. them boom. Display goes out... and then shuts down.

I'm going to try with the -f flag to see what happens.

  4. With GraphicsEnabler=Yes I got the following:

All failed to Black Screen then machine shutoff except the following:

IntelCapriFB=3  - Showed the apple logo for a split second, then black screen and power off

IntelCapriFB=6  - Hung @ "Controller: Intel Panther Point (VendorID: 8086 device ID: 1e20)

  5. All Fail with the same message as original post booting with the following flags:

    -v GraphicsEnabler=No ncpi=0x2000 IntelCapriFB=0 (through 10)

It does seem that there is another error "flow_divert_kctl_disconnect (0): disconnecting group 1

    Trying with GraphicsEnabler=Yes (stay tuned)

  6. Shutting what off exactly? Not trying to be dense, just a beginner.

    I'm already booting with GraphicsEnabler=No

From what I can tell, most say this is a Graphics issue. Just not sure how to work around it or fix it.

*edit: While waiting for a reply, I disabled Bluetooth in BIOS just to see... still sticks at the same point.

  7. Here's the line that's coming up. I can boot into safe mode just fine...

    **** [iOBluetoothHCIController][searchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Conroller Transport!!

USBF:    60.387 The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying.

I've installed the extras from this post. Still no luck.

    Any ideas?

  8. Ok, I let the system automatically reboot itself this time instead of jumping the gun. It still reboots (with the USB stick OUT) into "Invalid Partition Table!"

Hitting enter there let's it move into an option to boot to the partition... Then it's hanging at IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device...

  9. No, it hung.

However, I changed my flags to ncpi=0x2000 and it loaded past it. From there, it freezes after the OSX post successfull installation message, just before it is supposed to reboot....

If I force it down, the mesage that comes up is Invalid Partition (Everything is MAC Journaled GUID)

  10. So I'm working towards installing Mavericks on my new Dell 6220. This is the very first time I've attempted any sort of H-Tosh build, so I'm probably more than a noob.

I've ran the installer (MyHacks, followed the guides on this site) with the following flags:

    -v GraphicsEnabler=No, ncpi=0x300

No idea what the above means, but I read it somewhere in relation to installing on this machine, plus it's the only way I could get the actualy GUI installer to run.

Anyway, I've got the disk formatted as MAC Journaled and Non-MBR, all that jazz.

It runs through the entire installer. At the end, I choose the extras folder that has all the stuff from the bootloader I downloaded from this site. Three popups appear asking to remove things as they cause KP's. I do so.

Right in the upper right corner (can't see it, sorry) it starts to "Installing Chameleon Bootloader" and then immediately dumps to the screenshot attached.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, I just have no idea what that something is. I don't have a MAC in front of me today to re-do a USB stick (@ work), but if I can just add a file or two to the USB stick, that won't be an issue.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction? (Image is attached in a larger size, in case you can't see the screen ok)
