  1. Wifi works now and I have Windows booted as well. I also fixed my brightness issue with the ability to increase and decrease brightness from my keyboard with a few dsdt.aml patching. However, although VooDooHDA works for me, I cannot yet find a patch for my AppleHDA. Ive been looking and looking for days for a patching for my Realtek ALC283 on multiple forums, with little to no success. Does anyone know anything about patching AppleHDA for Realtek 283? I can give you whatever files you need
  2. I'm very new to this whole process so it has been a lot of trial and error, screwing up, reinstalling, asking a million questions. In regards to my ethernet, how would I get the correct ip for my router as you are saying? I'm trying a patch guide myself to see if I can get my audio working, which is like gibberish and another language but I have gotten at least a quarter through so far lol... My Mavericks does run smoothly, I am using Chameleon and with IntelAzulFB=12 I was able to successfully boot up with my graphics fully working. My mousepad and keyboard are working but my camera does not yet work (which isn't a huge deal to me yet) and my wifi or ethernet does not work. Currently I'm waiting for a wifi card to be shipped to me and I am going to install it and mess around with that to get my wifi online (hopefully). In regards to Windows, I'm waiting on that until I have Mavericks fully functioning then I'm going to use disk utility and partition my HDD and try and dual boot (later on tho) and hopefully it's successful. This is quite the project, especially for a noob like myself lol, but I enjoy learning.
  3. Ok, so I'm new to trying to create a patch. I just got Mavericks running on my Inspiron 17 7737 without USB or -x and the graphics fully work. However, my audio is Realtek ALC283 according to my codec dump and apparently there is no AppleHDA patch for me yet so I decided I need to try this myself. I haven't gotten far but I was wondering if someone more experienced and knows what to look for could tell me if my information so far is correct, especially down in the Verbs part. Hope this isn't too much of a headache, hope to hear from someone soon! UpdatedCodecProgress.txt
  4. Got help from a guy named RehabMan and got me really far. So far I can boot into my laptop without my USB on Mavericks. I don't need to boot in safeboot and I got my Intel HD4400 Graphics working as well with "IntelAzulFB=12" flag in Chameleon bootloader. (One of my issues was the mach_kernel which I had to swap and I needed to install KernelPatcher to fix the panic and random reboots) Now, my biggest issues for days has been trying to get my ethernet working. I replaced the kext and still can't figure out. My ethernet is recognized but it says "Self-assigned IP" so not sure how to fix this. I was getting annoyed with the ethernet and figured I'll just buy a PCI-e wifi card which should be coming in the mail that should be compatible. My biggest headache it seems is trying to get my audio, as there is no AppleHDA patch for my sound driver, which, after doing a codec dump is ALC283, which as far as I've seen, has no patch yet. So trying to create my own patch following some guides has been the MOST confusing thing ever lol... If anyone can help me with the sound would be greatly appreciated. Right now I'm on UBUNTU on my laptop because I need it for internet lol.. P.S. Thank you guys for the response, I had no idea people had been responding to me.
  5. Anyone able to help me they think? Nobody familiar with my laptop or haswell ? Lemme know, thanks
  6. Yup, did that, forcehpet, etc.... nada man! Maybe it's something deeper that someone has to come out with a new patch for my particular computer ?? No idea
  7. I've done that already, still automatically reboots. There's no info given either.
  8. Here's how the process looks when I'm booting up: http://www.flickr.com/photos/107223244@N05/10597297166/
  9. Here ya go: "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1024x768x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>No</string> </dict> </plist>"
  10. To clarify, when you say list the contents, you mean to list what's inside the file? I only ask cause I don't want to open the file and mess up my system. Sorry I'm being so careful, last night I accidentally installed something I was supposed to install to my usb, onto the desktop of my friends mac and when it rebooted, totally wiped everything! Thank God i had this usb drive, i was able to reinstall to his mac. So I'm sure everything is up to date if it installed on his mac, right?
  11. Hmm, how would I find that? I'm assuming the most recent version though Update: I think this is it.. it's called "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" is that what you were referring to?
  12. So I have my bootable usb drive made my myhack... have my two partitioned drives, I go to install and the apple logo shows up for a few seconds then it reboots :/ tried a bunch of different flags but to no avail. No idea what to do. I went from the forums in unifail to here because no one was able to help plus I couldn't find any information... This seems like the perfect forum.... I have a Dell inspiron 17" 7000 series 7737 ... haswell, Intel 4400 graphics, 750 gb, i5-4200U... hopefully someone can help me get past that instant reboot
