  1. The issue here Herve is - that it keeps showing up in the AppStore as an update still to be applied - won't go away.
  2. I have a great functioning nVidia D630 running 10.8.5 thati s having problems installing the latest Security Update 2014-005. I have tried up install it using the AppStore and I have downloaded the DMG for it. Each time I have tried installing it, the installation process runs for quite a while, I reboot, it continues installing after the reboot and I finally get "Installation Failed - contact Apple Support" and it reverts back. Anyone else had this issue? Or can anyone point me to log files where I might find out what is causing the installation failure? Thanks
  3. That was indeed the case - as soon as I move the AHCI kexts into the original package, it all worked!
  4. Thanks Patel I found that the AHCI kext's were missing in the S:L:E directory on the original E6410 ML.zip package. I copied the ones from the E6410 10.8.1 ML.zip package and rebuilt the installation USB. I'm in the process of checking that one out and installing at the moment. If that doesn't work, I will go to the Mavericks one and see what happens with that.
  5. As a follow up, I built the installer with the 10.8.1 ML pack to start - and I get the same message about the failed install - so - I am guessing there is something missing from the 10.8 ML pack - I will see what the differences are between the two - I'm guessing there is something missing in the S:L:E directory on the 10.8 ML pack...
  6. Jake - yes - it is on AHCI - when I go into the BIOS settings, it is there. When I boot initially from the USB and it gives me the options to boot from, the old HD is there too - it's just once I boot from the USB that it's not available.
  7. I'm hoping someone can point to this quickly. I have followed Patel4Prez's guide exactly for the E6410 with ML, including the additional top from coldsun1187 about using the E6410 ML.zip as well as the E6410 10.8.4.zip. I built the USB perfectly. Now however, when I boot from the USB, my HD (80Gb) drive is not displayed in the Disk Utility in order to format it and install to it. I have checked and I have IOATAFamily.kext in System:Library:Extensions. Anyone point to a quick fix for this? Thanks.
  8. Yes - MLPF v0.3 and the resolution is 1920X1200.
  9. I have used the HiRes DSDT for MLPF and it works great. After running MLPF, the machine boots, but then I get the same black screen on the regular boot. I have copied the HiRes DSDT to the regular partition, and the machine will not boot - even with wireless disabled. I tried to put the HiRes DSDT with the lores bootpack and regenerate the MyHack installation - it won't install - just hangs after about 20 minutes...won't go any further and that is with wireless enabled and disabled - any ideas anyone?
  10. Sorry - I didn't get a chance to do until a little while ago - yes - it is the HiRes screen - I will put the HiRes DSDT into the Extra.. Thanks
  11. I'm guessing it's safe to use the Lion HiRes pack as I don't see a ML pack on the compatibility page right? Thanks
  12. Herve I select the USB stick to boot from (that is how I created the ML PF installer) and type: DSDT=/Extra/DSDT.aml arch=i386 -f Thanks
  13. Hello all I am following this guide https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2468-dell-latitude-d830-intel-gma-x3100-ml-with-full-qeci/ - I am working with ML 10.8.5. In the guide, I get to this step 6 under the ML Post Factor section: reboot off your initial ML disk/partition, interrupt the boot process at the Chameleon delay bar and select this newly created installer with options & flag: DSDT=/Extra/<dsdt filename> arch=i386 -f I enter this, it loads the white screen, and then the screen goes blank. I tried adding -v as well and it loads fine to the point I guess when it is loading the video drivers - that is when the screen goes blank. I have downloaded all the files from the guide, followed it step by step. Anyone else had this issue? Any ideas that I can follow? Thanks Mark
  14. Yes - it's a MyHack installation - it put the correct everyhing in SMBIOS.plist. After further research, I realized that was going to be an issue - I did run Safari and saw the issue. Thing is I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so it will have to wait until I get back. Instead - I'll take my perfectly working D630 with 10.9 on vacation....
  15. Updated: Resolved the en0 issue - had to restart with wireless disabled so the LAN interface became en0 and now the Wireless is en1 - still can't access the AppStore - so - will search further.
  16. My apologies - I searched on different topics and found the issue with en0. I followed the guide there to remove the interfaces and remove the plist files in SystemConfiguration, but my network interface always comes back as en1 not en0. Here is the output of my lspci. Any idea on how I can get it to be en0? 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a00] (rev 0c) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) [8086:2a02] (rev 0c) 00:02.1 Display controller [0380]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (secondary) [8086:2a03] (rev 0c) 00:1a.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 [8086:2834] (rev 02) 00:1a.1 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 [8086:2835] (rev 02) 00:1a.7 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 [8086:283a] (rev 02) 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:284b] (rev 02) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 [8086:283f] (rev 02) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 [8086:2841] (rev 02) 00:1c.3 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 4 [8086:2845] (rev 02) 00:1c.5 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 6 [8086:2849] (rev 02) 00:1d.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 [8086:2830] (rev 02) 00:1d.1 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 [8086:2831] (rev 02) 00:1d.2 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 [8086:2832] (rev 02) 00:1d.7 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 [8086:2836] (rev 02) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge [8086:2448] (rev f2) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation 82801HM (ICH8M) LPC Interface Controller [8086:2815] (rev 02) 00:1f.1 IDE interface [0101]: Intel Corporation 82801HM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) IDE Controller [8086:2850] (rev 02) 00:1f.2 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation 82801HM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA Controller [AHCI mode] [8086:2829] (rev 02) 00:1f.3 SMBus [0c05]: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller [8086:283e] (rev 02) 03:01.0 CardBus bridge [0607]: O2 Micro, Inc. 17. Herve Thanks - I did try to search and I only found one post that discussed this - I guess I used the wrong keywords - can you give me some pointers on what to search for please? I did check lspci and my Ethernet controllers is above my wireless controller in the output. Thanks
  18. I have installed a D830 with OSX 10.9 and all seems to be functioning correctly. I did this with the various guides that are out here for the D830. My one issue now is that I am having an issue with the AppStore. When I try to run updates, I get the "Device/computer can't be verified" error. I've searched here andc compared it to my D630 that works perfectly, and I have checked that the Chameleon EthernetBuiltIn flag is correctly set. Anyone have an idea how I can get around this? Thanks Mark
  19. I am getting the following error (attached) on a brand new installation. Ran EDP, downloaded and as soon as the download was complete got the error. Deleted the EDP installation, retried, same error. This is on a Dell D830 with 10.9. Any ideas? Thanks Mark
  20. Thank you Darvinko!!! That was the one thing I missed - I was doing this late last night - and - I missed that step!!! Installing at the moment!!
  21. Jake Intel Core i5 M520 2.4GHz 2Gm memory Graphics: Intel GMA HD 32Mb memory 14" Wide XGA Resolution 1280x800 Trying to install OS X 10.9.
  22. I have gone through all the posts on the E6410/Intel video laptop - and have followed all that everyone has said. Yet, I still have an issue. I get the Apple screen with the rotating circle at the bottom - but - then the screen goes black and the next thing I get is the voice command to select the language - nothing is visible on the screen. I have loaded with -v to see what I can find there and everything seems to be okay - no major errors - any ideas everyone? Thanks..I have an E6400 to do after this - so - want to make sure I can get that one too
  23. Thank you - working perfectly!! Dummy here still had it off in the BIOS - working like a dream - thank you - this site is the best!!!!
  24. I have purchased and installed the Atheros AR5B91 card into my D630C. Is there a kext that I need to have it operational? I don't see if automatically supported and don't see it in the system report. The one thing that I did notice is when I took the Dell card out, there was an additional mounting point for what seemed to be a power cable, but on th AR5B91 card, there are only antenna mounting points - was just wondering about that too.
  25. Only the one that is built with the USB install stick - I have not run EDP as that is the thing that caused the network card to fail.
