Find .app Installer Mavericks around Internet and download it, then make a shared Folder with Vmware.
Vmware is out of the topic, I can't have much support, please ask in the author's thread.

After creating SMBIOS, click Save As and save to /Extra folder of your Mac drive.

I was doing step 3a for Mavericks. But I did not have a Mavericks app. So I restored a dmg to the partition.
I'm not able to connect to internet from VMware OSX so couldn't get the app. Is there some other way to get the app.
Please help...
Find .app in internet, or search for other workaround with InstallESD.dmg. Restore InstallESD.dmg alone won't work.

After installing. I can boot into installer and into recovery but can't boot into os. It sticks on appleintelpssI2C:probe fails.
I tried also to install it over mavericks but nothing to do.
Try removing AppleIntelHD* kexts, many people reported HD4600 on laptop won't work on 10.10

@pokenguyen
You forget to put package folder on USB in your guide for yosemite, and to change the appleintelframebufferazul if not you will have really bad graphics glitches, I can't still boot into OS, in verbose it hangs on mounting ntfs partiton. Don't know what to do.
Hang after or before installing? Can you boot to installer?
And I forget packages folder, thank you.

What are you installing? Did you do step 3a/3b?

Just to let you know i only copy all the 10.9 folder into the 10.10 in clover, install the latest version of clover and i was able to boot from the stick (with replacing azulbuffer because i had graphics glithces) but after installing i got stuck without any kernel panic. It just doesn't load the UI. Btw if you want you can open a thread and i will test it for you! Sorry for the off topic!
No need for opening a thread, guide now updated for Yosemite.

Do you have some minutes to read Clear Network Settings in my guide?
-
today i will try to install yosemite at the same way of this! Any help will be appretciate, just making the usb stick now and copying all the kext etc that could be useful, i will report later whats going on!
I will update the guide when both Clover and Yosemite are stable enough. DP1 is not stable and worthy to upgrade.

If you already show 0a16, inject 0a16 will have no effect.
-
If you're using Windows UEFI with GPT disk, just create new partition and install. Otherwise, reformat your drive.

Go to System Information > Graphics, what is your Device id?

If you want to patch kernel as Bronxteck said, run HVT and select Kexts > CPU Power Management > patch mach_kernel
Or
Run the following command in terminal:
perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x6c(\x48\x83\xc7\x28\x90\x8b\x05..\x5e\x00\x85\x47\xdc)\x74\x54(\x8b\x4f\xd8\x45\x85\xc0\x74\x08\x44\x39\xc1\x44\x89\xc1)\x75\x44(\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x57\xf8\x48\x8b\x47\xe8\x48\x85\xc0\x74\x06\x48\xf7\xd0\x48\x21\xc2\x48\x0b\x57\xf0\x49\x89\xd1\x49\xc1\xe9\x20\x89\xd0\x8b\x4f\xd8\x4c\x89\xca)(\x0f\x30\x8b\x4f\xd8\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x17\x48\x83\xc7\x30\xff\xce)\x75\x99(\x5d\xc3)\x90{7}|\x74\x73${1}\x74\x5b${2}\x75\x4b${3}\x66\x81\xf9\xe2\x00\x74\x02${4}\x75\x92${5}|g' "/mach_kernel"
then rebuild cache.

I appreciated a lot your information.
And, by the way, Is there any guide on how to patch match_kernel?
Are you using Clover or Chameleon?

hi everyone!
I have it last time and it is stuck to 10.8 and can't be update anything at al.
I try clover bootloader on stumble, and it is running 10.9.3 now, it is works everything, even lan, except the SD card and HDMI is unkown.
the clover bootloader require a bit of learning but turn out it is great.
if anyone like to try, I will write what i have and learn.
PS: I just clone OS from other desktop drive I have, and I have not DSDT also.

This site seems to have come out of nowhere since I checked on the hackintosh world last. Excellent job guys. There seems to be a lot of great stuff going on here.
I have a 7440 w/ i7 but I have a model that has a FHD --touchscreen-- and backlit keyboard. I'm not expecting these to work or anything but would they interfere with creating a functional build?
How stable would you rate your build, Poke? As far as odd things like audio compatibility and kernel panics.
I don't own this laptop, it's based on my experience with other laptops to build the guide. I think it's stable, the audio jack may not work, and FHD + touch may not work too.

what happen if I use same usb setup from E7440 install on E7240
with same CPU
It may work, but you'd better repatch dsdt.aml on new laptop.

You can enable 2 finger in Syspref > Touchpad. If it's new version of ALPS, it can be not supported fully.
Here is the main page of ALPS touchpad driver, and I'm using the latest driver there.
https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2545-new-touchpad-driver-for-e6520-alps/
There is no further developement recently.
I think you should buy a decent mouse instead.

What is your touchpad brand? ALPS, Synaptics, Elan?
