    I managed to install El Capitan with E5520. I saw your spec mentioning that you're using 2x8GB DDR3 RAM ... looks like it supports 8GB module. Gonna try

    Now I triple boot with El Capitan, Mavericks and Windows 10 on a single harddisk with Clover. Better speed in booting compared to Chameleon. I've followed other guide by Jake to generate SSDT. Enabling C1-C4 is not required. I had problem with display corruption. I changed the processor thermal paste to Arctic MX4 and reduced the max load temperature 94°C to 80-82°C. Overheating caused my installation or backing up partition images always interrupted because the laptop would shutdown. Took a long painful process but learnt a lot!

    Thanks Jake Lo! Now it works. I took the patch from your Clover Guide, within E5420 pack I copied the patch. When I changed the SMBIOS to 8,2, the USB showed up! Now just to get the battery percentage work. Fixed it. Just removing all the New way settings. I think I liked the text, speed of El Capitan more than Yosemite. Much clearer.

    I've tried the USBinjector. still it does not work. With harddisk partition as installer method, I can successfully install El Capitan but all USB ports are not working. I've tried with USBfix and injector options in Clover but no success.

    I've done so with Clover but no success. I think its the USB drive could not be accessed by the installer to continue. I have a none-working USBinjector or genericUSB kext. So I've created the Installer on a partition on the module harddisk. And it works!

    How can you use Clover and that kernel flag? I've tried many times and still got the error

    I have to roll back AppleACPIPlatform.kext from Mavericks to make it work or it'll stuck as waiting for SystemMapper. Audio, sleep/wake does not work. Touchpad jumps like crazy hell. I had to ur USB mouse.
