  1. I've done more looking and found that I should be able to add a Windows partition fairly easily: http://www.osxlatitude.com/dual-boot-osx-windows-made-easy/ I definitely won't be adding it to the boot loader. Every time I'd see it I know a little bit of vomit would pop into my mouth.
  2. Yesterday I attempted to pair my D430 running the July 12 bootpack and EDP v396 with an older Motorola cell phone (to possibly tether internet from the phone.) I was never able to see the cell phone from the D430 nor could I see the D430 from the cell phone. I even tried to pair (both ways) my iPhone to the D430. I did make the D430 bluetooth discoverable. I made both phones discoverable as well. Would someone confirm that bluetooth does indeed work on the D430 running Lion 10.7.4 and the bookpack/edp I listed above? Do you have any suggestions on where I should start looking for the problem? Thanks.
  3. Has this "fix" for the bluetooth not working after coming out sleep been integrated into a current EDP? I have a D430 built with the July 12th bootpack and EDP version 396. I'm willing to install a custom BIOS if that is the solution as well. Thanks.
  4. Great, thanks! It seems to be working well.
  5. Lion is running well on my D430. Used the July 12th bootpack and EDP v396. I even have WIFI working after getting and installing IO80211Family.kext. If I close the lid of the laptop, in essence putting it to sleep, when I open the lid and as the computer "wakes" I end up getting a kernel panic. I have confirmed that I have a sleep kext in /Extra. I've rerun myHack and chose the option under the fixes section to disable the hibernation file (the verbiage said something about one of the necessary steps to get sleep working.) Are there any other settings in the BIOS or somewhere else that I need make to get this to work? Overall I am happy with Lion on that old Core 2 Duo machine! Thanks.
  6. That is what I was looking for an answer to. Thank you. I am about to begin my installation. I am just now updating my bios to the most current version A09 (from A05). I am checking if there are any other firmware updates that I need to do first, before I blow away my Vista partition.
  7. Herve, Thank you for responding. I understand about how myHack has it's own generic Extra files and that I need to download and use a bootpack from here when I build my USB boot device. Those steps were covered in the "Pre Installation" document (http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/pre-installation/). And yes, I used myHack to create my USB thumb drive and then re-ran myHack telling it to use the Extra that I unzipped from the bootpack. It is now that I have my question. The "Installation", not pre installation, document (http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/installation/) says in step number 7 to run myHack now against not the USB drive bu the real laptop hard drive. Step number 8 says that myHack will ask if I want to use a generic Extra folder or if it should prompt me to use a specific one I have. Is the myHack "generic" Extra actually the Extra from the bootpack because it has been written to the USB drive or does myHack have an embedded generic that can override the one that shows in the root of the USB drive? The documentation isn't clear. If the Pre-Installation steps were followed then Step 8 should have a decisive answer.
  8. I am preparing to attempt my first installation of OS X to my Dell. Step 8 of the Installation instructions (http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/installation/) says: 8. It will ask if you want to install the Generic Extra & Extensions or if you would like to supply your own. Choose the Extra folder from your myHack installation USB. I am confused. At that point do I answer the question that myHack is asking with the answer of "supply my own?" And then at that point just point myHack back to itself (ie., the myHack USB drive)? Or do I answer with use "generic extra?" Thanks! p.s. I posted this to the D4xx forum as I have a D430 but this question could be posed for all model types.
