  1. I just had a crazy idea. Could I somehow flash my bios to the latest M4300 bios? From what i understand it's the same board. The reason i was thinking this was maybe then I could use the M4300 boot pack and shutdown and restart may work better.
  2. I'm still having no luck with shutdown. But i wanted to pass something along that i've noticed, it may help with someone coming up with a solution. If i run my fix right before i shut down it will work every time. Additional info i am using the e6400 boot pack because the other one gives me a black screen. And i have done nothing to my DSDT.aml
  3. The reason I ask about chamelon is because I thought mountain lion would boot a little faster. I'm thinking about trying the boot list from the m2400 boot pack. Also shutdown and restart hang some times, as well as the computer won't wake up every other try.
  4. What's the best version on chamelon for mountain lion?
  5. Plugged in yes but on a old 65w supply instead of its usual 90w supply that's at work. Speed step and multicore option in bios. Should I disable speed step and retry?
  6. Or could it have something to do with speed step and the fact I'm using a 65w power supply at home?
  7. Help It might be my processor, I booted in win7 and did a performed performance test 1.0 score due to calculations per second being 1.0 Is it possible running Mac has over worked my processor, or something from when I changed the motherboard maybe? Is there a test I could preform to narrow it down between processor or motherboard? If I do have to get a new processor which one is best?
  8. Not sue why or what I've done but under about this Mac it says processor 1.5ghz instead of the 2.?? It should be. Does this affect performance and can I edit it to make it correct? Two days ago it was correct.
  9. I updated my test partition on ML today to 10.8.1 and it said an unexpected error had accrued and that the update could not be installed. I chose restart and let it do it's thing, it went to a spinning wheel for a bit and the in rebooted. All went well my about this mac now says 10.8.1 Good Luck
  10. couple of issues I was wondering if anyone else has had or knows how to correct. The first is a lot of times the system wont restart or shut down, it just stays at a grey screen and if you just press the power button you get a log on screen. The only solution is to power down by holding the power button. The second is that no matter how many times I run disk utility and repair permissions it says Permissions differ on “usr/bin/tarâ€; should be lrwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x . Repaired “usr/bin/tarâ€
  11. I'll check for a bad permission and try again. Now that I have a almost perfect system, my next interest is what should the CPU temps be for th e6400. Mine seem to be around 60C when watching a YouTube video, and constantly between 40-50 C with light web browsing. I am using Tempature monitor 4.96 Just wondering since I have changed my heatsink to acomidate nivida motherboard and replaces factory heat sink compound with Article silver 5
  12. First off I just want to say thanks to all of you guys for your efforts. Heres what I've come up with. I have a nearly perfect install now, the biggest thing I found was installing each kext one at a time and running my fix to avoid panics. I've had it near perfect a few times following the guide in the beginning of this post, but never could get sleep to work. Now I have sleep working, in order to do that I had to delete both yes I had two appleintelcpupowermanagment.kext from S/L/E and add the NullCPUManagement.kext then running my fix, next i added sleepenabler.kext using kexthelper next i repaired permissions and rebooted. After rebooting i followed patel4prez's guide he wrote to remove sleep image and change hibernate. That got my sleep working very nicely with the lid. Now I'm going to install aperture and iWork and try updating those, hopefully all will go well. Couple of notes and question. Question Every time I run my fix from inside the operating system it take 30 to 45min to complete it use to only take 5 maybe 10. But if i boot into the osx installer and run my fix on / It would only take 5 maybe 10 min, this if what i did for most of the kext installs. Also I use to be able to use the M4300 boot pack no problem just didnt have all the mouse or power button options, but now I get a black screen when trying to install with that boot pack weird. The modified E6400 boot pack worked well. One final question I'm currently on BIOS A29 should i flash to the newest BIOS or leave it alone? I think I was acually on A20 when I was not having a problem using the M4300 Boot Pack. Thank's Again to you all, I hope I can help other's half as much as you all have helped me.
  13. I'm using the e6400 boot pack so do I need to delete one of the apple kext first before adding the null one?
  14. So if i reinstall using M4300 and add nullpc and sleepenabler It should work just fine??
  15. I am attempting a reinstall using the m4300 boot pack, and then adding sleepenabler.kext. For those that sleep is working which boot pack did you use and how did you get sleep to work?? Sleep itself is not the problem waking up is.
