  1. Neither of these options worked...but never mind, I am getting a new HDD and will redo everything and see ...probably upgrade to Mavericks as well. For the time being, did you notice any lag when playing back mp4 files with either Quicktime or VLC? My playback is very bad at the moment, I have tried converting to different formats using youtube downloader but without much success I am afraid. Any advice is more than welcome Thanks
  2. Thanks, As a beginner to hackintosh, I did format the HDD as GPT - that is what most tutorials recommand ( I have to admit, they were not designed for dual boot ) . My Dell runs windows on an NTFS partition, and ML on a GPT partition. But the bootsequence won't find the bootloader so I have to plug in the myHack USB each time I turn the machine on. Works everytime, but not very handy. This was my first shot at it and surely not the final setup. So I've got patience, time and willingness to learn more . So i will redo everything as MBR - 2 partitions, install W7 first, then OSX then the MBR patch. I just hope I won't have to load the bootloader from an external drive. Where can I find this patch by the way ? Thanks
  3. Good Lord, the last part of your reply kinda scared me . I am gonna need a few days to decipher all this. Is there a guide? You sound like you have tried Mavericks on your E6410. Is it any better than ML? I mean worth the risk of screwing an already good working hackintosh ? This is indeed my only laptop. So time machine before anything. Thanx
  4. Hello everyone, Just to let you know that I just finished installing ML 10.8 on my old Dell Latitude E6510 (early 2011) and have got almost everything working. All this is new to me so I very much liked the detailed steps in this tutorial. I therefore take this opportunity to thank the poster and confirm it does work with the E6510 ( see attached pictures for the specs I have) - Bios A07. My thanks also to all who have contributed and put the programs together. One suggestion I have to make : would be nice to add a step to disable power saving, screen saver for the HDD and display, during the installation process. Just wanted to enquire about a few more things to finish this off and have a completely working Hackinstosh: Did anyonce notice that the webcam seems to have a lower resolution than in Windows 7 or is me being paranoid ? Any progress on the SD Card Reader and the sleep functions? Can the poster share the link of the wifi card he has succesfully used? ie Dell 1510/Broadcom 4322? An ebay link would be ideal as I'd like to order one asap. Finally, there is a reference to an updated6410ML.zip archive but I am unable to find it. Any chance we could have the file/link reposted so the kexts for the wifi are made available? My next step is dual boot windows 7. Will let you know the outcome. Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks again Keep up the good work. Kind Regards
