  1. I've been a member of this site for years now and while I haven't been very active, considering that I've got a real Mac now, I find the way that they've treated you here to be appalling. Your responses seem to be very reasonable here and the way they've just lynched a long term user like OSXL is hard to believe. I think leaving the software behind is definitely worthwhile, even with downtime. Just like the commenter before me, I might be able to help out with something when/if the redevelopment does take place.

I've tried a few of the things on google, including that, but they all refer to running a script that doesn't exist. This is just a series of commands made in automator that when it comes to replacing the files it says I don't have permission

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I figured I'd come to the forums since I've been spamming Leon with questions lately In automator, I've made a little app thing that when I run the latest EDP, it will replace the background.png I want as well as my org.Chameleon.boot.plist in my Extra folder automatically. However these require higher level authentication, and I can't figure out how to give my automator app that power (since there's no "run as admin" feature like in windows. Thank you! I'm running a Samsung NP900X3C on OS X 10.8.2
  4. Thanks Leon that's super helpful. I'm not too worried about the bluetooth, wifi is my main interest. Hopefully removing the black strip won't be too much of a worry, I obviously don't want to break my machine
  5. I'm hoping that the "easily lift up" is really easy I was afraid that I might damage the parts, I guess I'll open it up and struggle around with it for a bit more. I need to physically install it before getting the software to work!
  6. Yeah I know that I have an intel centring card, and I've bought the exact model of card Leon recommended. If you look at the photos, I have a few of the new card. My problem is that I physically can't figure out how to replace my old card with my new, as the intel centrino card already in it appears to have this black strip over it as well as two wires attached. You can see all this in the photos
  7. Super sorry for the late response! I couldn't figure out how to upload the photos here, so I put them on my personal webspace: http://www.users.on.net/~adport/photosforleon/index.html Also, when running that nspci command the terminal didn't recognise that it existed. Instead I ran the system_profiler command. The entire readout can't fit here, so that's also on the personal webspace link above. Thanks for all the help, hopefully we can get somewhere!
  8. Ok thanks a lot, I'll get on to that ASAP, stay posted!
  9. I know that this thread is quite old, but I need help! I have opened the laptop and it seems I have absolutely no idea how to access the wireless card. There's this piece of plastic over the top of the currently installed wireless card, and two wires (a black and a white one) connected to it. Any assistance would be amazing, for the time being I've screwed the case lid back on. Btw my model is the Samsung NP900X3C-A01AU
