    hello

Hi, I'm from California. I'm new to Hackintosh and myhack I'm trying to turn a dell pc into a mac, because mac has special features PC's don't and I don't want to purchase a mac, when I have a laptop that really isn't being used. I'm fairly well skilled in PC - not super technical enough to offer help in the community, but would like to get some help, please. Thanks
  2. Thanks for your reply. Yes BIOS is set to AHCI. What is that Chameleon Module for? Please clarify. Thanks.
  3. I pullied out the "IOATAFamily" kext rom /System/Library/Extensions and /Extra before I updated to 10.6.7 and then put them back into /System/Library/Extensions after I updated to 10.6.7 and before I rebooted. Rebooted and it hung again.
  4. Thanks for that reply. It sounds logical. I just need to find myHack and a "compatible patched SATA controller kext". Any help with finding the right ones would be appreciated. thanks again
  5. Thanks for all your replies. Obviously I'm new at this. When I enter ncpi=0x3000 does it require a dash in front of it like -v does? the last few lines are: DSMOS has arrived Intel Memory::init AppleBCM440OXEthernet address 00:1d:09:dd:b8:4a Intel memory::init Init Pool: Offset = OX08000000 size = 0x08000000 SATA WARNING: Enable auto-activate failed regarding "what type of os install methodes are you using?" I'm installing 10.67 combo from apple.com
  6. Thanks for your help, however it stills hangs. Any additional help will be appreciated.
  7. Thanks for your reply and suggestions. Yes, the bios has AHCI enabled. Please clarify is that ncpi= Oh or zero x two zero zero zero? Thanks
  8. Thanks for your reply. The last line states: SATA WARNING: Enable auto-activate failed
  9. I've successfully partitioned and hackintoshed 10.6.3 on my Inspiron 1520. I've installed the 10.6.7 combo pkg, but upon Restart it hangs at the Apple logo (and spinning icon). Any suggestions/remedy would be greatly appreciated.
