For £6 I bought one of the supported broadcom mPCI-E wifi cards. lifted my keyboard and installed it and worked 1st time no messing about. I also updated to 10.8.2 without any problems. I'm running logic pro and all the cool mac apps without any problems just like my friend does on his mac book pro. I actually think Mountain Lion runs way better on my D630 than it does on his mac! Even watching videos on youtube or in VLC Media player the graphics are so clean with no lag or glitches. I am really impressed

I now have a working ML 10.8. the only things that don;t work on it are the wifi and the touch pad. for the moment I am not too worried about them but would be nice to get the wifi working - At the moment I am just glad that I have it working as it's taken me nearly a whole week to get it working so now I am pleased. I want to say thanks to Seb43654. Without his guide then none of this would have been possible for me.

Ok got it installing now. What I did was I copied all the install files and stuff locally to the VM as before I was using the shared folders to copy from the VM to my PC. Run Myhack to make the media, then installed extra (the ones advised to used with this guide) then run Myfix, put the USB drive in my D630, booted from it and within about 2 minutes I am booted up to the ML install where I configured my partitions and started installing. About 15 minutes left on the install now

Cool thanks for your suggestion. At least I now have some sort of idea as to what is going wrong. I'll have a look around and see if I can get something working. If I find a solution I'll let y'all know what I did to get it working

Hi all I am new here and I think I need some help I have created my install media using VMware and a good copy of ML. I used myHack to create the USB installer, I copied the extra folder like the guide said and also run myfix like it says too. My D630 has the NVidia GPU, Bios is at A18. I boot from usb and start the installer with -v. it all starts to boot up and gets to the point where it gets stuck on [ PCI configuration begin ] and will not move from that point onwards. I've recreated the media a few times and tried different USB drives but still haven't got it work. Am I likely to be missing something here at all? Any help/advice is appreciated. many thanks!
