  1. Hi guys, Ive managed to revert back to a working snow leopard 10.6.3 but after doing the combo update it wont even boot just resets the computer, any ideas as to my next course of action? Ive tried the using boot disk, retail dvd etc. it stops on pci configuration again
  2. I may have to try reverting back to an older version of chameleon to see if that works
  3. Right heres where Im at. Big thanks to Herve for trying to help me get my system working properly. Osx snow leopard 10.6.3 installed and seems to work fine the only problem Ive got is I seem to have bootloader issues, ive installed the necessary modules and a modified acpiplatform kext taken from EDP due to kernel panics but still no boot from hdd. It boots fine with mod cd but not from hdd. Also since installing EDP I now have no ethernet internet either, anyone got any ideas for my next move?
  4. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v410/TJC/IMAG0319.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v410/TJC/IMAG0318.jpg Im assuming by the red light on the chameleon bootloader gui that there is a problem somewhere, Ive tried a few different methods found on the internet but still doesnt boot Scratch that, I just reinstalled osx over the top of my previous install without wiping it first and now it boots fine from the hdd with chameleon, blind luck on my part obviously being a newbie. thanks for all the help much appreciated, now just got to see if I can update to a newer version, anything I need to do before upgrading to Lion?
  5. I renamed the com.apple.boot.plist to org.chameleon.boot.plist as mentioned but still get kernel panic and system uptime in nanoseconds I can boot it with the mod cd again afterwards but usually takes 3 or 4 attempts at least.
  6. Ive just tried a fix listed on macbreaker using my install dvd and disk utilities with the boot1h file on a usb stick then using terminal writing it to the osx partition, the only problem the bootloader screen comes up now after saying extra/com.apple.boot.plist is depreciated use file /extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist instead press any key to continue, the gui comes up says the same thing then the grey apple screen appears with kernel panics on. Whats my next move?
  7. Ive been searching the internet and apparently its something to do with hdds over 1TB, is there a fix using the mod cd or will I have to use unifail or something similar?
  8. Ive just tried to boot straight from the hdd and its come up with boot0: test boot0: error does this mean I havent installed chameleon correctly? I've got an error at the top of the wizard saying no chameleons.boot plist or something all I have in my extra folder is com.apple.plist
  9. I checked all my bios settings were all correct changed my hdd as I had ordered a 2TB one, The first install I tried on my old 500Gb sata. All I did then was use the boot cd then just pressed enter with no boot flags at all and it installed fine, and best of all the wireless usb keyboard and mouse still work after reboot. The only thing I did differently this time was I didnt check the ElliottForceLegacyRTC kext On reboot i tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes and t still booted fine with no problems so just got to sort the chameleon bootloader out now so its permanent.
  10. Finally got a working install of osx on my system, couple of questions though, what have i got to do with the chameleon wizard as cant seem to get it to work and cant find a tutorial, do I just select the Boot0hfs as Im going to dual boot with windows on a seperate partition and click install?
  11. Right then heres the latest, Using just ps2 keyboard managed to run chameleon wizard followed instructions etc and after restart osx will not boot, had to reset and boot with boot cd again instead, also bought a logitech usb wired mouse to see if that would work but still no luck.
  12. Ive borrowed a belkin usb bluetooth adaptor from a friend and a microsoft sculpt touch mouse which is supposedly mac 10.6 compatible and it doesnt even pick the mouse up at all, nothing seems to be working for me at the mo
  13. the equipment Im using is the microsoft usb wireless keyboard and mouse, it worked fine when I first installed osx but since it restarted neither of them work at all now so had to resort to a ps2 keyboard which is an absolute knightmare. Also when booting sometimes it freezes on the usbf section. Having to navigate with a ps2 keyboard using just shortcuts is getting a bit tedious I can tell you,
  14. is there a way i could download and install a replacement usb kext?
  15. Ive tried yes aswell and still no usb keyboard or mouse
  16. I dont use any boot flags now as its installed on my hard drive but trying to get usb working so i can then get to install chameleon so that it will boot on its own rather than have to keep using bootcd. I tried USBBusFix=No like you said but still no keyboard or mouse, it will read usb flash drives fine though, when is the delay bar?
  17. the only boot flags i used in the end were npci=0x2000 -v, im having to navigate with a ps2 keyboard i even tried installing a driver for my microsoft wireless usb keyboard but that didnt work either. how could i change the usb kext version?
  18. Legacy USB is switched on if thats what you mean?
  19. Finally got OSX installed on my amd system and using a ps2 keyboard have managed to fill in the osx forms etc, now the os has started i cant seem to get the keyboard setup assistant off the screen even using my ps2 keyboard as have no usb(as my usual keyboard and mouse are wireless usb items) Ive ordered a ps2 mouse as dont own one anymore just in case but is there any other way round it?
  20. it gets to the language selection screen like before but now for some reason my usb wireless mouse and keyboard etc dont work, what could of happened for this to not work all of a sudden? it worked the first time
  21. right heres the story so far, I took the retail snow leopard disk back and exchanged it for another stating that it must be faulty, I tried the new disk and it booted and everything seemed to work fine but then it crashed or froze, now it keeps saying when I try to reinstall previous shutdown=0 is there a way I have to reset this or something so that it will let it boot?
  22. Hi guys Im still having the same problem with the pci config begin crash, can anyone please help me out as ive searched the internet and tried all these different methods but still sticks at exactly the same place. surely I cant be the only one with this problem
  23. no idea this is all new to me, ive been searching the internet for different ways to boot osx on my amd system and this was one of them, still no further forward though, starting to do my head in. also when i went to look at nawcoms blog i couldnt access it, thought maybe there was something on there could help me
  24. now tried -v -x npci=0x3000 pci=off and it got a bit further not much though, just said console 1024 x 768 @ 0xfb000000
  25. I've tried rboot 1.2 and it goes past the PCI configuration screen or seems to as the screen just goes black and the disc drive is going mental, but after a while it just stops and after leaving it for 20 minutes realised it wasn't going to happen. I used PCIRootUID=1 and npci=0x2000. After this I tried the same method with the Modcd I downloaded from this site but still seems to hang at PCI config begin, definately a head scratcher
