Eureka! It's all working well now! Clover boots locally to OSX, audio works. The problem seems to be that I was entering my Apple ID during the install process and choosing to use apple's vault tech, which was locking up the internal drive somehow. Does that mean I cannot use my apple id? This time, I did not enter it during install. All works well. Also, should I not use this 'vault' tech? Or location services? Not really sure what was causing the drive to lock but that worked. Any suggestions on using apple id and choosing their services?

I verified that my bios is indeed set to AHCI

Now it is booting into clover locally on the Macintosh SSD. This is a major good step. Unfortunately, I am only given two options: - Boot Mac OSX from Recovery HD - Boot Recovery from Recovery HD Again, it seems that booting OSX from the local HD has disappeared At least now it boots into clover locally... without the USB disk needing to be plugged in any suggestions? Well, once again I started off from the beginning and followed all the latest instructions. The same thing is happening where, upon reboot, the local Macintosh SSD is not shown as a boot option for OSX anymore. It disappears from the menu. I mounted the EFI folder with the new EFI mounter and everything. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Also, could you please direct me to which wifi/bluetooth card I should purchase for this machine to have working wifi under OSX? Also, the audio does not work. Could use coaching around that. Thanks!

Try mounting it and add the folder when you're successful booting back in. Alternatively, you could mount the drive on to another OS X system with an USB to Sata adapter. The EFI Folder I created was the generic folder merged with my particular model number, then replaced the EFI folder with this created EFI folder. One thing, when I downloaded the generic EFI folder and the one specific to my model and merged, there wasn't an option to merge the two. I just copied the documents from my specific model's downloaded EFI folder and put them into the generic efi folder then renamed to EFI. This was confusing that there was not a merge option, as the guide was saying to do. I thought I had placed my EFI folder in the correct place, replacing the one on my internal drive. OK, good suggestion. I went in to the bios and added a UEFI boot option for Clover and what seems to be happening is that it does not see clover on the Mac SSD. I hit F2/Settings/Boot Sequence I add Boot Option Boot Option Name: Clover File System List: I leave that section as is (correct?) doesn't look as if I can change that anyway. File Name: takes me to EFI Boot Selection menu. Under file system: I choose FS0 Directories says EFI and I click on it. Now directory says only 'APPLE'. There is no Clover. That's what's happening when I remove the USB disk. When I add the USB disk, FS0 becomes the USB disk and I indeed see a clover folder and app in there. I know I did install clover locally. Again, now when I boot into the USB disk's clover, I no longer see an option in the menu to boot from my local Mac SSD. It disappeared. This is a loop I am in. I always get to this same problem point. I have ironed out all the other issues (except things like the audio wasn't working, which I will work on when I can once again boot into the local SSD OSX) So I am not sure why clover has disappeared from the internal SSD or why the internal drive is not being shown as a boot option when I boot through clover on the USB disk. Thanks, guys. I am new at this, but determined to learn and get it right. I got it to boot by hitting F12. When the boot menu comes up, I was wrongly choosing my USB drive in the Legacy Boot list. Instead, I arrowed down to the UEFI BOOT: option and clicked the one option it was showing me, which has my USB drive's name attached to it. Then it starts to boot from clover, which is installed on the USB drive. My problem now is a repeated one I have been having. After installing clover, post install of El Capitan, to my Mac SSD, when I reboot it will not boot from the internal drive, if I take out the USB disk. If I remove the USB boot disk I created and reboot the computer, I get: No Bootable Devices- Strike F1, Press F2..., Press F5... It will only boot into clover if I have the USB Boot Disk plugged in. BUT even stranger is that after a few reboots, the option within clover (booted from USB, not internal drive for some reason) to boot into OSX on my internal drive is gone. It does not appear in the Clover boot menu anymore. The only options that appear are: - Boot Mac OSX from Install OSX El Capitan (USB drive) - Boot Mac OSX from Recovery HD - Boot Recovery from Recovery HD I have started the whole installation process over several times in order to iron out the wrinkles and get it right. I start by erasing the internal hard drive, as suggested. Then I go through all the steps. I always seem to end up losing the option in Clover to boot into the local HD with Mac OSX and also I end up only being able to boot into clover if I have the USB disk plugged in. Now it wont boot anymore. Just stopped. The bootup apple turns into a circle with a cross through it. Do I need to start over?

Ok, I got this far and am stuck again: Launch ssdtPRGen.sh (Included in Tools attached below) Place generated SSDT.aml in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched When I double click on ssdtPRGen.sh, it opens in a text file and does nothing. If I open Script Editor and copy the contents of ssdtPRGen.sh into it and then hit run, I get an error: Syntax Error/Expected end of line, etc. but found identifier. It then highlights 'let gXcpm=-1' I don't see a generated file anywhere called 'SSDT.aml' Any suggestions? Thanks, Edgar

OK, this is where I am today. Still stuck on Invalid Partition Table! screen - I went through the guide and created one version with Master Boot Record and it did not boot, then another with GUID Partition Table and it did not boot - I noticed a change in the post #2 for the EFI instructions. It says to combine the generic EFI with the model I download. Then replace the mounted EFI. I did that too. Still stuck on Invalid Partition Table screen. Are there any other suggestions? OK I'm stuck. I I don't know how to get past this invalid partition table screen. I did everything right in making my usb stick. The troubleshooting you mentioned was to do a low level format and remake the installer usb disk? I don't know how to do a low level format on a mac. The USB drive is brand new and it works well. Good brand... HP. I am not sure why I would need to reformat at low level or if that is truly the problem. Can you offer any other suggestions? I really appreciate it!

Where in the guide does it talk about a bootloader? Where do I go about reinstalling a bootloader?

OK, I did every step correctly to set up my bootable USB Drive, prepared using the El Capitan Clover Guide. I chose the correct EFI folder too. I set up my bios per the instructions in the document on my Dell Latitude E6230 / 8GB RAM / 256GB HDD / Core i5-3340M 2.70 GH. When I try to boot by pressing F12 and choosing the USB drive in the list, I get screen that says 'Invalid partition table!" Any suggestions? It will not boot into clover.

Yes, thanks, Jake. I have gotten this far in the installation process of clover and have a question about: 26. Hit Continue, then hit Customize. Select these items: Install for UEFI booting only Install Clover in the ESP Drivers64UEFI\OsxAptioFixDrv-64 (DOES THIS MEAN THAT I ONLY SELECT OsxAptioFixDrv-64 and DESELECT the other options within Drivers64UEFI? Or do I include all the files within Drivers64UEFI?)
