  1. OK, up-to now i managed to get working: The eDP panel in full 4K. No touchscreen, I guess i must forget it on MacOS. HDMI with hot-plug OK, (don't now about 4K, the monitor is FHD) Usb ports (int. and ext. ports) Wlan (intel 8265) Sleep. Having trouble with: The Bluetooth. It looks to be on, but can't discover anything, and although it's discoverable from other devices i can't pair with it. The panel backlight adjustment. If i add SSDT-PNLF in ACPI, i do get a working backlight adjustment but only after a sleep - wake-up cycle. The eDP panel remains dark from power-on, until the sleep-wake cycle (weird). Sleep (or not?) With HDMI plugged-in, i get working sleep (and power-off). With the eDP panel alone, i get instant wake and power-on after shutdown (2nd weird). System specs are: i5-7300U cpu (kaby-lake) with 16GB (2x8GB) ram, HD620 graphics on a 15.6" 4K touch screen, 256GB NVME ssd, and Intel 8265 wlan. 12.2.1 Monterey Could you please have a look at this config and advise? config.plist.zip
  2. Thanks Hervé, I started with the donor config unaltered (uses MacMini8.1), just added a serial to boot and install (only HDMI working). Then i switched to iMac18.1, this been a much better choice for this system (Kaby Lake cpu and internal panel) but with no difference. Obviously the framebuffer data needs correcting, i just drowned in a sea of settings and switches lol. Anyway, system specs are: i5-7300U cpu (kaby-lake) with 16GB (2x8GB) ram, HD620 graphics, 256GB NVME ssd, and Intel 8265 wlan. The panel comes from a dead Dell XPS 9530. It's a 15.6" 4K touch screen and on windows it's just brilliant. I know about the DVMT memory for 4K, but as far as i know Intel has it unlocked (calls it IGD minimum memory) and options range from 32MB up to 1.5GB. I have it on 128MB, and IGD aperture size on 256MB (ranges up-to 4GB). Of course i can set it much higher if necessary. I will do my homework with your pointers and see what i can get. Thanks again...
  3. A help request for the experts... So i have a spare NUC7i5DNKE (the one with 2 HDMI ports and an internal eDP port for an lcd flat panel). A while ago i aquired a dead laptop with a 15" 4K touchscreen lcd, and thought i will try to combine the two, and (try to) build a nice 4K hack. All that was needed was some cable modification which was done. The panel works fine on windows (full 4K res., the touchscreen and the webcam). On macos it doesn't come-up. It's identified as a 27" 2560x1440 lcd and gives NO picture, not even the backlight comes on. HDMI ofcourse works fine. I used the config from here: Hackintosh-NUC7I7DNKE Thinking this is an identical system and just added my serial. I tested both MacMini8,1 and iMac18.1 smbios, same results. I have no idea if the display adapter - lcd config is correct, or if it is missing necessary data for an eDP lcd to work. The guy probably uses it with an HDMI monitor. PS. i replaced the broadcom kexts with the intel ones, but the boot freezes when they are enabled so i omitted them for now (I'll get back to it later). So, any help appreciated. Attached are my config OC.zipand the lcd EDID (extracted from windows) NUC7I7DNKE.zip. Thanks.
  4. I have a Latitude 5580 with a DW1830 wlan card running perfectly on BigSur. I am trying to upgrade to Monterey and saw that the bluetooth kexts keep hanging the boot process, so I disabled them and finished the update. I updated all kexts and Opencore to 077, but bluetooth is ofcourse off. Please advise on what to change to get bluetooth back. Attached is the plist I boot with, all bluetooth kexts disabled. config077.plist.zip
  5. Thanks Jake Lo, i had no idea the kext order in the plist was important. I'll do that. PS, I cannot believe I spent all day trying and the solution was so simple. Done it, problem fixed... Thanks. As for the boot default, i have done it a dozen times. I move Windows boot manager on top, and it stays there as long as i only boot windows. If i boot opencore even once, it moves itself first in the boot order. It's magic...
  6. I know it has been asked a million times... With the help of the forum (actually Jake Lo) I have a decent Catalina install. All essential parts work including sleep, brightness etc, apart from the USB-C - Thunderbolt port hotplug (works only when plugged from boot, in the end I do not care). I decided to update to Big Sur and after a lot of searching and testing, I managed to install it (clean install). Again (after a lot of post install trimming, most essential parts work apart from the trackpad (no sign of it in IOReg compared to Catalina). I searched, I tested 4-5 solutions given to others with similar hardware (acpi aml and kext trackpad sets - and config changes) but no luck. I decided it is beyond me, and ask for your help. I attach both the working Catalina and the Big Sur efi, if someone can have a look. efi-catalina.zip. efi-bigsur.zip Thanks... PS, OC 067 keeps setting itself as the primary boot option in my bios (when I boot macOS) and I want to keep windows as my bios boot default. How can I stop this?
  7. Here it is, 3 different taken, with no usb-c plugged, usb-c hot plugged (not detected) and usb-c plugged from boot (detected ok). Thanks. PS found the sata trim flag.. MacBook Pro.ioreg.zip
  8. Update, Added the new files. USB-C is still detected from boot only. No hot plug. Nvidia is now disabled. Brightness control was already there, don't know if the added aml made any difference. I will try to find how to enable trim on data on OC (it's off now), and perhaps fix sleep. Thanks...
  9. No nothing like that, MacOS is running internally on a sata drive. the USB-C drive is just to have a fast portable drive. Thank you for the fixes, will add them.
  10. I will, and perhaps I spoke too soon. Usb-c works if its plugged before boot. Its not hot-plug like usb is. This is with a USB-C external nvme disk plugged but not detected. MacBook Pro.ioreg.zip Edit, Sleep is not working. The screen turns off, the fan keeps spinning and it can't recover (only hard power down).
  11. Already did, this is posted from Catalina booted with that OC bootpack. Checking what works what not (all basic stuff work!!!). Weird, In system info the HD530 is listed twice. Nvidia is listed too (without a kext) No need here for any kext to go in /library/extentions? Any advise for the USB-C to work? (and even Thunderbolt3)? Anyway thanks a lot, OC is still Chinese for me.
  12. Thanks Jake lo, i will, but what about smbios info? In Clover i used MacBookPro13,3 (same gen. as mine). In that OC bootpack, the 2 plists for hd520 are almost without any platforminfo, and the hd620 is configured as a MacBookPro15,2. Thanks anyway...
  13. Couldn't agree more Herve, I searched the forum and downloaded about 10 of them with similar hardware (for e5570, 5580, 5480 etc) but i could not boot to installer with any of them. Jake Lo's pack for a Precision 5510 did boot, although with out sound, bluetooth and same usb problems. So i started there... I am not trying to get it ready on a plate, but for a novice its really confusing. Perhaps you could point me to one? Thanks...
  14. Can the experts please take a look at this EFi. Trying to debug Catalina on a Latitude 5580 i5-6440HQ HD530. Mixing and matching out of this forum (mostly Jake lo's work so all credits to him) i managed to install and partly iron-out Catalina (intentionally installed Clover v5119 as its the last pre-OpenCore release, i am totally clueless on OC). Working wifi (Dell 1830), Bluetooth, iGPU (Nvidia disabled), Keyboard-Trackpad, LCD with brightness and sleep, Sound. Trying to figure out USB, i am at a loss. Internal and external ports work, but only as USB2.0. If i plug any USB3.0 device its invisible. I tried HackinTool, but plugging anything usb3 does nothing. I have no idea if USB-C, ThunderBolt3 or HDMI are working, trying to sort the basics first. @Jake Lo, my starting bootpack was your "Precision 5510" pack (similar hardware)... CLOVER.zip
  15. All i can see is unpredictable behavior. Even though some things get fixed, the system behaves weird. I have freezing on shutdown AND reboot (on the down faze of the reboot), panic on restart, but NOT always. After some use and some restarts i lost sound completely so i reverted. Then reapplied and sound was present, but the last weird thing was when i tried to check sound on headphones the system froze completely. And now i have a headache ... PS. On another post i saw you advise (for a 5580 also) changing the sound layout to 13 or 56. Mine is 11. Perhaps?
  16. I honestly can't say for sure, I can undo the changes and find out...
  17. Thanks a lot Jake Lo, A lot got fixed with the changes you made: Keyboard (incl. function keys), Touchpad (incl. buttons and nub joystick), Bluetooth, SSD Trim. LCD Brightness and Sleep are not working (doesn't sleep, the fan keeps spinning and wakes up in a few seconds), and shutdown and reboot are let's say unpredictable. Still had freezing on shutdown, and panic on reboot. This is the reboot panic screenshot. I have no idea how to fix those...
  18. Thanks Jake Lo but your bootpack panics on my laptop. Searching and reading around, i assembled this: CLOVER-Boot.zip Which at least boots and let's me install. However only graphics, wifi (dw1830), ethernet, sound (only speakers, no headphones out), and battery work. I have not: Keyboard (LOL) Bluetooth (probably because i didn't copy the kexts to lib/ext, i wanted the basics first) LCD brightness SSD trim Freezes on shutdown (haven't checked sleep yet). Other stuff i didn't bother to check yet. All the clover setup, kexts, ssdt's etc is mindboggling...
  19. Thanks Hervé, Any pointers for install configuration?
  20. Hi all, As the title says, i have a Latitude 5580 - i5-6440hq Skylake cpu with HD530 graphics, plus discrete Nvidia 940MX graphics and Thunderbolt-3. I have already swapped intel wifi with a DW1830, and have a Catalina VM installed on VMware for creating the install drive. I searched the forum but a haven't seen a similar setup (most are for the "U" cpu's with HD520 graphics). Can you point me to a suitable bootpack? Thanks... (I am wondering if Nvidia-940mx and thunderbolt can work...)
  21. Griftopia, your dsdt.aml was already in your extra pack in 1st post. What i meant was for you to list which patches you applied via macisl to the original dsdt (if you remember). Anyway thanks for this...
  22. @Griftopia I too have a M6500 with only difference in the graphics (ati firepro), and have installed up to el capitan using clover. I am trying with enoch (heard about better imessage compatibility) but i can’t boot the installer. Sticks at waiting for root device. Can you please list all the patches you applied to your dsdt, the way you created the usb and the options you installed enoch with? Thanks... PS It took ALOT of reading and experimenting to make my graphics finally work, and i gave up after another ALOT of efforts to make sleep work. Not many have this laptop, and you are the third i found trying with osx. So dont expect much help from the community. But in my case all usb ports worked (can’t say about Sierra). The ethernet kext that floats around is problematic above Yosemite (i think this is why you had corrupted downloads, i had problems too). Wifi worked fine for me with a compatible Atheros card. But it looks like we have to figure the rest ourselves.
  23. Thanks for the tips, I will try them and get back. Its frostrating i haven't been able to even reach the installer.
  24. Hey everybody, I started this as an experiment but got rather serious about it. Is there ANY hope for these specs (on ANY OSX version)? Precision M6500 with: Intel Core i7-740QM CPU 8GB DDR3 SDRAM 120 GB SSD (Windows 10 boot) + 1 TB HDD + 120 GB MSata SSD (this is to be the OSX drive) DVD+/-RW Drive ATI Firepro M7820 1 GB Broadcom 57xx Gigabit Lan Intel 5300 wifi (can change that to a supported card) Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module (don't care about this) 1394 Firewire port (don't care about this) 2 x USB 3.0 ports 1 x USB 2.0 port 1 x eSata / USB 2.0 port VGA + HDMI port SD card reader (don't care about this) Integrated HD webcam Dell Touchpad Fingerprint reader (don't care about this) Best i have got so far is past the text portion of boot (-v option) and to a very bright white screen (my guess it's the installer screen). MyHack (10.9) gave me the white screen. Now trying 10.10 manual usb creation (my hopes are not high). My guess is, my graphics card is the issue. Unfortunately changing it is a deal breaker. Or should i just give up?
