  1. Axel, is it possible to get the bootpack? The links are no longer active.

Please go to first post, I've updated the links.

Axel, is it possible to get the bootpack? The links are no longer active. I'm taking a break from my D430 for i can't seem to get it to boot after Lion 10.7.5 installation.  I have the D630 with Nvidia graphics. Does your extra folder work with Mavericks? Thats what im planning to install.

    Yes.

Unfortunately, in my D630 Nvidia graphic card is defective.

  2. First of all, you should all make sure that the Tjmax parameter of the FakeSMC CPUMonitor PlugIn kext has the correct value (eg: 100°C for T7xx0, 105°C for T8x00/T9x00). Tjmax values are available on Intel's web site. An incorrect Tjmax value in the kext's plist (set to 0 by default if I'm not mistaken) will report an incorrect CPU T° in HWMonitor or any other monitoring app.

The T° reported by Axel do not seem correct to me at all, at least not on an nVidia model... Maybe on a GMA X3100, but even on that, 36°C is just kind of hard to believe... I think my CPU idles around high-40°C/Low-50°C.

In FakeSMC (6.8.1307) I have no  CPUMonitor PlugIn kext.

    Do you mean CPUSensors.kext ?

There, the Tjmax value 0 was set. I set it to 105.

    no major changes in HWMonitor.

  3. Displayed T° could be wrong. CPU at 38° is something rarely seen in my opinion (at startup from cold for instance or after a wake).

it does not seem abnormally to me, my temperature is similar

with Youtube Videos in Browser the GPU temperature goes up to 75 ºC

  4. did you replace the Extra folder in the D630 folder (on the USB-Stick) before Installation with your own Extra folder?

the myhack.kext in /System/Library/Extensions is for a D630, maybe you should delete it? (on the USB-Stick before Installation,

or on your installation disk - if you have it already installed)

  5. I've created a Mavericks Installer Application for my D630. (I have a D630 Nvidia)

Maybe it works for other D630 owners.

It could work possibly for other models, if you replace the Extra folder in the D630 folder with your own.

(Feedback are welcome, whether it works or not.)

    Download

Unzip it and move or copy the whole folder 'D630Installer' to Applications.

You can replace the dsdt in the D630/Extra Folder with your own.

Do not change the rest of the folder.

You need a 8GB Usb-Stick and the Mavericks Install App from the AppStore.

Start the D630Installer.app in the 'D630Installer' folder and follow the instructions on the screen.

    After making the Stick

    - copy the folder D630 from /Applications/D630Installer to the Stick.

    - Download the Post Installer and copy the unzipped App to the  Stick

(after the completion of the stick you can find on the desktop a file named D630Installer.log,

you can read or delete the file.)

When the Installation ask for a Bluetooth Keyboard, just press the spacebar.

    edit: important

After Installation is finished, boot from stick, in Chameleon choose your new Installation

    and type -v -f

Run the D630InstallerPost.app from the Stick. Reboot.

here is the Installer script, if you wanna change it.

  6. many thanks for this detailed explanation.

    another question:

using 'sudo kextcache --system-prelinked-kernel -arch x86_64' in terminal gives an error message

    is IntelCPUMonitor needed for HWMonitor?

    IntelCPUMonitor.kext - no dependency found for org.netkas.FakeSMC.
IntelCPUMonitor.kext is missing dependencies (including anyway; dependencies may be available from elsewhere)
