  1. Thanks, I have updated to 10.7.5 and have it all working well inc. sleep / wake with my new wifi card. Thinking this may be a 10.7.4 issue I have just tried Ethernet again without wifi and after sleep, settings report network cable unplugged - connection does not resume. I am not too bothered now I have working wifi but would be nice to know why it's not reconnecting.
  2. Having spent several days learning the art of hackintosh and getting Lion the way I want it on my D630 I've got the install time (from scratch) down to about 1.5 hours (allowing for combo update) using myHack / EDP, all thanks to this forum Now, what's my best option for saving this config for use later in the event that I need to restore? Is it a case of going through it all again or is there a way I can kind of take a snap shot of where I am at with all relevant kexts installed and everything working - much the same as I can make an image in Windows and ghost it back to the HDD? Fairly new to mac and certainly to hackintosh but having great fun! I know about time machine but are there other recommended methods as that would require a working install with everything installed to restore to I assume?
  3. Thanks, awaiting arrival of my Broadcom Bcm94312mcg so that should hopefully fix the problem. In the meantime I'll update to 10.7.5.
  4. Running my D630 X3100 1280x800 with Lion 10.7.4 - sleeps and wakes without a problem when I close / open the lid or use the menu options but on wake there is no ethernet connection. I have installed sleepenabler.kext for Lion and have used MyFix Full but still no connection on resume. Am I doing something wrong? MyHack / EDP Install
  5. Just removed IO80211Family.kext from S/L/E and Lion now plays nicely even when wifi enabled in Bios. Will do for now as a workaround until new wifi card arrives.
  6. Thanks, this is the conclusion I reached. Working well now, the IONetworkingFamily.kext was a complete red herring! There are a few other little niggles I have with my install but after what I have learned about the world of hackintosh over the last few days that's to be expected I think.
  7. Yep, right on. Soon to be replaced wifi card though (Boradcom Bcm94312mcg on the way) Yup, as above, wifi card to be replaced. In the meantime though, enabling the wifi in the bios and disabling with switch does not seem to work - boot always fails with system uptime message. I can boot with it enabled and it's not a huge inconvenience having to enable in bios when booting into W8, I just wondered if this was as it was meant to be with this config and I am guessing it is.
  8. Having a strange issue where my D630 with Intel wifi card will not boot when wifi is enabled in bios. I know this is a known thing during install and that wifi has to be turned off but should I not be able to boot with it enabled (I am dual booting with W8) once install is complete?
  9. Resolved - this was not down to the above .kext at all - more some anomaly with the way Lion sees the ethernet adapter, i.e. it doesn't immediately. Relevant .kext required followed by a bit of fiddling in network settings.
  10. Update: Thought I had solved the above by updating the IONetworkingFamily.kext and repairing permissions in Disk Utility - after doing so everything was fine until next boot. Crashed with wifi card enabled and when disabled Lion loaded but the networking preferences were unavailable. The process froze every time I tried to select network. Further investigation showed the IONetworkingFamily.kext file greyed out in S/L/E so guessing this has something to do with it. Even replacing the original file and fixing permissions has not brought the network option back so I'm now onto my third reinstall of Lion and this is getting tedious. Any ideas... anyone?
  11. Some great info in these forums - turned me from a complete hackintosh noob (not scared to admit that) into someone who has Lion working almost perfectly on my D630 Intel 2GB and for the spec, very fast too! I say almost as I am unable to get the LAN working at all in Lion. I am one of the unfortunate ones with the unsupported intel wifi card so am falling back on the LAN (or trying to) whilst I await the arrival of my replacement (considering the Broadcom Bcm94312mcg so please let me know if this will not work)... My Ethernet adapter is the 'Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller'. I know this covers many different variations so PCWizard shows it up as a BCM95755m. I am pretty sure this is unsupported in Lion but would love to be told otherwise. I have tried the boot pack for my system which was installed during the MyHack installation but no joy. Prior to Lion I have had Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard running on this D630. Snow Leopard had the same issue with not showing the etherhet card but strangely in ML it was present immediately on booting - it's just a shame I was unable to keep ML due to the incredibly poor graphics performance. So, after three days of tinkering this is where I am ... Running Lion very nicely but tearing my hair out trying to get it connected. I have been unable to try EDP as it says an internet connection is required. Incidentally, EDP killed my ML installation (until I used MyHack to install Extra to undo the damage so I'm a little reluctant to use that). If anyone has any ideas please shout up and thanks in advance.
