richw
Need some help installing High Sierra on a Dell E7440. I tried building a USB installer with Enoch using the instructions for Sierra on my E6220 from here with one change. The BaseSystem files are in a different location. No luck, I get a kernel panic. I also tried building using Clover using the command line to create the usb with these instructions. I applied the FixHeaders config from these instructions. No luck, I get a kernel panic. Is there a way to capture a log of the panic? they both scroll by fast.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 12, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 12, 2017 Stick with the Clover loader, update files according to this post Post KP by booting with following option verbose (-v) Don't reboot on panic (debug=0x100)
richw
Thanks for the quick response. I'll continue with the Clover build. I've attached the kernel panic and Clover configurator screenshots.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2017 Replace this into /EFI/Clover, not merge. Then update according this post.
richw
Replaced files and performed the Configurator change. The option to install is no longer available in the Clover bootloader menu.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 13, 2017 Did you keep the other folders, other than replacing those 3 file and folders attached? Make sure you have HFSPlus.efi in /EFI/Clover/driver64UEFI
richw
I do not have HFSPlus.efi

richw
Thank you. That hurdle crossed. Next up Disk Utility does not see the internal SSD drives. Bios is set to AHCI one msata SSD and one SATA SSD. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. ***Update: Had to use Terminal to format new drives before they were available to DiskUtility.
