[SOLVED] Dell Latitude E6540: audio issues under High Sierra

Im running High sierra 10.13.3 on my E6540

i7-4800 MQ, intel hd4600, ALC 292

 

I followed JakeLo's guide and patched files

 

AppleHDA_ALC292.kext and FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext installed in Library/Extension

layout-id = 1 in config.plist. but sound still doesn't work

Not seeing AppleHDA_ALC292.kext in the output.

Get rid of HDAEnabler.kext

FakePCIID_HD4600_HD4400.kext is old and had been replace with FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext

 

Add AppleHDA_ALC292.kext.zip to /L/E and rerun commands again until you see AppleHDA_ALC292 showing in the output

Then reboot

you mean delete HDAEnabler.kext

Yes, get rid of (delete)

If you are using it, make sure it's to enable layout-id 1 and nothing else

i've tried and Apple_ALC292.kext showing in the output, when i reboot sound is now working, but headphone port not working

Should be working fine with CodecCommander.kext in /L/E or /S/L/E, not both.

Repair permission and rebuild cache, reboot.

Did you remove the HDAEnabler?

The Device naming looks strange from your screenshot

 

Check to see if it auto switches to Headphone...

Are you getting static noise or plain no sound at all?
