SabithaSuki
Okay Good news! I hand copied the ACPI and patches from the post file to the main boot up, and were in business! I'm going to attempt the brightness fix now and will return with further results. 10.13.6 update also works without any issue.
SabithaSuki
Right, I tried using the method described above, but I still dont have control either in keyboard or in settings. Does anyone have the injection kexts or ACPI's I can use to try and manually patch it within OS X? Everything else is working fine, its just this one snag. Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 3, 2019 Remove AppleBacklightInjector from /L/E. Then repair permissions and rebuild cache
SabithaSuki
Okay, it's still not working control wise. Do I need to put it in /S/L/E/ or another directory?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 3, 2019 In Displays Preference, do you see the Brightness Control? Do you mean the Fn key for Brightness is not working or both Fn key not working and not showing in Displays preference? No we don't put any kexts in /S/L/E other than the 2 kexts in /L/E for Bluetooth, assuming you have a supported Broadcom Wifi/BT combo card
