metropolis
Hi everybody -- I've got a T460p that I've got *almost* perfect -- for the life of me, I really can't get brightness control, or sleep working. Would love some help if anybody is able to give it! I've attached the EFI folder etc. debug_31854.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 4, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2019 Remove AppleBacklightInjector.kext, you have AppleBacklightFixup.kext already.
metropolis
Thanks, @Jake Lo. Sorry I missed this reply until now. Just did so, cleared kextcache, and rebooted, without a change. Any other ideas? Added the new output below. debug_27765.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 5, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2019 You have the kexts turned off when you boot with this arg, remove it and reboot -applbkloff
metropolis
Ah, seems like we're getting somewhere -- thanks for the help @Jake Lo. Changing the value from Clover (tried removing it, as well as `-applbklbeta` on subsequent boots) forces it to load to a black screen on boot. I'd guess then that something having to do with the graphics or device id is maybe misconfigured? Any ideas?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 5, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2019 Try this config, made some changes from yours config.plist.zip
metropolis
Thanks again for taking a swing at it -- no dice, sadly it's consistently booting to a black screen.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 6, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 6, 2019 Had you tried connecting to an external monitor to see if it boots to the login screen? Or try shining a flashlight to the LCD to see if you can see the login screen Lastly have you tried the Fn key to adjust the brightness? I think it's F5 and F6
metropolis
Good call. Just tried again with this new config -- brightness keys aren't working, but upon connecting to an external monitor via HDMI, both displays seem to wake up. Just tried to see if the same happened upon waking from sleep as well, but it looks like the onboard display stays black, while the external display works -- at least we know sleep does work! At least this feels closer.
