TreyM
The airport card is an Atheros5006EX with ID 168c. I am stumped as to why this is happening. I was previously using another true Apple card that was N capable and it worked fine as it should, being a vanilla card. Any ideas?

TreyM
Isn't that for a base station? This is an internal wlan card. This is happening on SL 10.6.

TreyM
I will def try it for SL if Lion doesn't work out. At some point today, I'm gonna try doing a fresh Lion install. Hopefully Lion plays nice with Logic Pro 9. *crossing fingers*

TreyM
Ah thanks for the heads up. Doubt I'll dual boot. I'll just stick with SL. (Just installed SL on an Optiplex 755 last night.)

TreyM
None. I get kernel panics on one other true airport card as well. AR5BXB6 WTF? It says the back trace is related to BCM4322.kext or something. WTF? This is an atheros card. Ugh I cannot figure out for the life of me why it's not loading the OSX drivers for these cards. TreyM
Well, what do you know? I just installed a random non-apple Broadcom 4312 I had laying around and it's working. Nice to have native Airport again. But this Atheros based true airport issue DOES need to be looked into. It's really odd that a real MBP Airport card would cause these issues. :/
