No, I can't boot without -igfxvesa. 1 hour ago, Jake Lo said: If not, then you might have to follow my DVMT guide here and here for E7x70. Jake, I have a few questions : 1. I already use Lilu.kext + Whatevergreen in kext folder in the EFI. Is that enough to not change the DVMT? 2. Is changing DVMT safe for my laptop? Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 10, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 10, 2019 Normally repair permissions and rebuild cache should cache should work with Lilu+Whatevergreen. You could try placing them in /L/E instead. But if not, changing DVMT will have to be done. Yes, it's safe for all the latitudes I had done hence it's included in my guide. aufannada
Ok Jake. I've followed the first method and it didn't work. Booting still has to use -igfxvesa and still get a 4 MB display. And now, after I change the DVMT, then this seems to work (boot without -igfxvesa), but the boot process stuck like this
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 10, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 10, 2019 try disabling none essential kexts... Assuming kext is in /EFI/Clover/kexts Hit spacebar at Clover loader-> Block injected Kexts Select the Folder where kext(s) resides ( Other, 10.13, 10.12…etc) Select kext(s) to be disabled Go back to main menu and boot with selected option Just need FakeSMC or VirtualSMC, USBinjectall, ApplePS2Controller, Lilu, Whatevergreen and IntelMausiEthernet
aufannada
Ok, I did it Jake There are only VirtualSMC, USBinjectall, ApplePS2Controller, Lilu, Whatevergreen and IntelMausiEthernet And, it still appears like this
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 10, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 10, 2019 Before I spend more time on this issue, is there a reason why you need El Capitan on this model and not the latest version Mojave or even Sierra, or High Sierra? aufannada
Because when I use High Sierra (even Mojave), there are several applications (at least 4 applications until I decide to change to El Capitan again) that I use to work with El Capitan on a previous laptop, which cannot run properly in High Sierra (even on Mojave, there are around 5 applications that cannot run properly). And this is a specific application. Not an easily updated / upgraded application. I really apologize if you feel like spending time on this issue to helping me. Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 11, 2019 Here, give this a try. Replace into /EFI/Clover. No fully tweaked but should get you up and running. E7270-ElCapitan.zip
aufannada
After I tried using your EFI, it still hasn't succeeded yet Jake.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted June 11, 2019 boot to Clover, press F4. Attach your USB to a working system, compress and attach /EFI/Clover/ACPI/Origin folder I'll need to patch your files unique to your system
