François
I installed Ubuntu to an external hard drive. Now when I boot, I have "GRUB" followed by a blinking cursor. I can't type anything in. I'd like to boot directly into OSX again without messing up any further my current install. All I have access to is my Dell laptop running a Linux Mint Live CD. Thanks
Administrators Bronxteck Posted June 5, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 5, 2012 try booting off of a usb stick with chameleon on it then re install the boot loader if you get back into osx
François
Okay, I managed to boot OS X with the SLD430USB.img.bz2 USB key. Then I downloaded and installed Chameleon.pkg but I still get the GRUB _ pseudo-prompt at boot.
Administrators Syonagar Posted June 6, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 6, 2012 Dear francois, Are you using an MBR partition scheme on your hard disk? If yes, have you make you os x partition active? Cheers!
Administrators Bronxteck Posted June 6, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 6, 2012 if syonagars methode does not help you can try to resize your osx volume.... if you cant then it's most likely a mbr partition. you can also use myhack 3.1 to re install chameleon
François
I use GUID, or so says Disk Utility.app. One thing I didn't mention is that new EFI partition since I installed Ubuntu... Could I just delete that?
