madmax
Hi, I did solve the keyboard issue by using myhacks PS2 kext from EDP3. Now I have 2 new issues. 1. There is no sound. The speaker icon is there and the slider works too. Dell shows the loudness when I us ethe hardware keys. But no sound at all. 2. every 2nd boot I have a black screen. The M4300 seems to boot normally as I can see the hdd led flashing. Onece I reboot it eventually comes up normally. It then displays a message that I manually shut down the Notebook. bla, bla.... How do I resolve this. Please advise. cheers Madmax

madmax
Hi, yes I just tried it but unfortunately it does not have microfone support. Is there another way to use the buildin mic? cheers madmax
madmax
HI, I still have the black screen issue every 2nd boot. Is there a solution? cheers madmax
Administrators Syonagar Posted August 1, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 1, 2012 Dear madmax, Try to include efi string for your graphics card in device properties in com.chameleon.boot.plist using chameleon wizard. You need to search around for the efi string of your graphics card though. Cheers!
hackymac
Madmax, I too own a M4300 and have struggled with the black screen. I followed some of your posts and tried a few things. I *think* I've finally got rid of it when I did my Mountain Lion install. I edited my DSDT (in our bootpack). From this: "device_type", Buffer (0x0D) { "NVDA,Quadro" }, "model", Buffer (0x18) { "NVIDIA Quadro FX360M" } To this: "device_type", Buffer (0x0D) { "NVDA,Parent" }, "model", Buffer (0x18) { "NVIDIA Quadro FX360M" } So far, so good -- I've yet to have the black screen. HTH!! Good luck!

madmax
Hi, I opened dsdt.aml in /Extras with dsdt editor but I can not locate the part that talks about NVDA. Is that the right file? ( I can not attach it... here) cheers Madmax
