Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 2, 2021 Moderators Share Posted December 2, 2021 Yes, if it could boot to Monterey, you can use it to upgrade to Monterey.
davidfrei7as
@Rajganesh I'd rather do a clean install than upgrade. But it's up to you. I think it should work.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 2, 2021 Moderators Share Posted December 2, 2021 If you don't want to reinstall apps and restore data, then upgrade is better. You can also install on top without format as well without losing data and apps.

Rajganesh
@davidfrei7as & @Jake Lo, Thanks, I was able to use David's EFI and perform an uprade from BigSur to Monterey. Overall it was a smooth process but for below few issues. Wi-Fi did not work in Monterey, which was working in BigSur. Fixed it by applying the latest stable airportitlwm.kext (which was not available in David's EFI) Bluetooth is not working in Monterey, which was working fine in BigSur. I don't remember applying any kext for bluetooth in BigSur, not sure what is missing now? System Preference is laggy in Montery (particularly Trackpad & Bluetooth settings are not opening). Any inputs?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 5, 2021 Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2021 David's files don't include Intel Wifi / BT Remove all the Broadcom wifi/ BT kexts For Intel bluetooth, add IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext and BlueToolFixup.kext
Rajganesh
Thanks added IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext which fixed the Bluetooth issue. Overall now this configuration looks stable. Thanks for your support.
