Lost-Entrepreneur439
My Acer Aspire TC-780 running Ventura is kernel panicking whenever it wakes from sleep. Does anyone know how to fix this? Panic log and EFI is attached. Panic log (made when I was still on Big Sur, I'd imagine the issue is the same on Ventura though) - https://pastebin.com/9bWmuWPh EFI - https://github.com/Lost-Entrepreneur439/acer-aspire-tc-780-hackintosh-ventura
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2023 Looks like you got it quite wrong somewhere... Your Aspire TC-780 is a Kaby Lake/HD630 desktop, yet the OC EFI you posted on your repo applies to a... Sandy Bridge/HD4000 laptop (with Haswell MBP11,3 SMBIOS) and it's clearly not for Ventura. I guess you posted your Latitude E6530's Big Sur setup, oops !
Lost-Entrepreneur439
I checked, I did attach the correct EFI, it applies to a Kaby Lake/HD 630 system, with an iMac18,1 SMBIOS, did you maybe have another tab open and clicked on the wrong thing? Maybe it was a weird GitHub bug? idk.
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2023 No weird Github bug, no click on the wrong thing. I assume you did not verify that "Release" section, with v1.0 version... The other stuff looks correct indeed but most people will go to the Release stuff you know. The setup posted there is that of your E6530's.
Lost-Entrepreneur439
Oh, yeah I just checked the main branch as I assumed thats what you were checking, looked at the releases and yup, I accidentally attached the EFI for my E6530 there, thanks for making me aware of that! I just replaced it with the correct EFI.
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2023 Can't see anything wrong with the OC setup. What are your power management settings? Sleep or hibernate? Looking at the KP info you posted, it seems graphics related. I would suggest you remove that forceRenderStandby=0 boot arg in your OC config. Lost-Entrepreneur439
I haven't changed anything, so I'd assume it's the default, which from my research, is sleep.
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2023 With sleepimage file removed from /var/vm and hibernate file pointing to /dev/null ?
Lost-Entrepreneur439
clarification - I just assumed sleep as from my research, sleep is the default and I don't remember ever changing any settings relating to sleep.
Administrators Hervé Posted May 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2023 Configure Sleep as per our recommended settings in the dedicated topic of our FAQ section and report back.
