Guest macaroni
Well, I've tried several metohds on this T4215 (goal is to have a working osx wacom penabled tablet). I'm at a loss to know exactly what I've missed, so I thought I'd take this in a different direction and give EDP 1.8 a try (hardware is not *too* different - Core 2 Duo, GMA 950, ICH7 chipset, etc)...posting relevant details below if anyone is interested...(and hopefully eventually a guide, or at least what options to choose in EDP, kext to install, etc...) First off, I have proof of concept by booting into a clone of a macbook pro and installing Tablet Magic (http://www.thinkyhead.com/tabletmagic) then running kext utility, then doing a disk permissions repair, then rebooting (off the D620...iso) with -f and then following the suggestions at the bottom of this post: (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t153295.html) and then I installed corel painter - beautiful success - pressure sensitivity and all - nuff said. Here's where the snare is - can't seem to get the right combo of kexts and bootloader, etc. Was trying tonycrap's latest multifail, but no success there, tried 10.6.7 and 10.6.6 and even a 10.6.0, but same result every time...boots to apple logo spins, for a while then just plain white screen. (see attached for verbose boot) funny thing was I could never boot with latest iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded), but always successful when using an old D620...iso (Chameleon v2 rc3 r658) anyhow, here is what I'm up against if anyone wants to join in the fun (lspci command in linux below) 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub (rev 03) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family PCI Express Port 1 (rev 02) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family PCI Express Port 2 (rev 02) 00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family PCI Express Port 3 (rev 02) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH7 Family USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 02) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 02) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 02) 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 02) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 02) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev e2) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 02) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7 Family) SATA AHCI Controller (rev 02) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family SMBus Controller (rev 02) 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 12) 05:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02) REPLACED WITH BROADCOM WIFI (BCM94321MC) 08:03.0 CardBus bridge: O2 Micro, Inc. Do like you have been doing to install OS X, and update to 10.6.7. My build (D520) is similar to yours, with the GMA 950 and ICH7 chipset. Here is my /Extra/Extensions folder and you could drop it in there. I'd remove anything that doesn't pertain to you though, like BCM440x.kext, ApplePS2Controller.kext, and VoodooTSCSync.kext. Your wireless card won't work. The Intel cards aren't compatible with OS X. I'm not sure if you can change yours, but I'd swap it out for a broadcom if you can. After you get my /E/E, download EDP1.8 only to install Chameleon and to have it perform a new build with current kexts. (Option 1, followed by option "A"). Here are steps laid out: -Install OS X -Update -Use EDP to install Chameleon -Replace Extra/Extensions with mine, sans mentioned kexts -Use EDP to perform "new build with current kexts" (option 1, then option "A") -Reboot and test Extensions.zip
Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 30, 2011 Administrators Share Posted May 30, 2011 try one of the newer chameleon bootloaders from here then use chameleon prefpane or lizard app or manually edit com.apple.boot.plist in extra with graphics enabler=yes generate p-states=yes generate c-states=yes also you might need graphics kext in e/e or replace the one in s/l/e in EDP graphics are patched in DSDT (try searching for DSDT editor app it has patch for 950). that might be the reason for gray screen (needs graphics or graphics injection) the link you provided also says something about hanging because it says you need to patch appleyukon.kext for lan.
