el_caboing
So I have a d830 with Nvidia graphics and performed the fakesmc edit and removed the appropriate kext files. I ran myfix full and I get a kernel panic every time I boot. If I boot with the -v -f flags I have no issues. Not sure what I did wrong.
Administrators Hervé Posted March 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted March 12, 2014 Possibly a corrupt myHack.kext in /S/L/E; rebuild it through myFix (quick).
el_caboing
I installed another version of fakesmc that fixed that problem but I am still getting jitters when trying to view videos. I tested with a youtube video and the load average jumped to 7 and that wasn't even full screen. I just now ran edp and see if that will help. retuned the fakesmc to the above values for my d830. PeterC
Let us know how it turns out. I've similar hardware and have been playing with the performance tuning for a while now to no luck.
PeterC
Okay, so after fighting this for a while. I went in, EDPed the system and removed a bunch of kext (VoodooPstate, sleepenabler and so forth) went through the very excellent instructions once again and HD video has almost no pauses now, and..... Thanks for the great work! Peter
Administrators Hervé Posted March 14, 2014 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2014 Everything confirmed Ok with el_caboing after he used the suggested FakeSMC version (5.2.678 I guess), not the one installed by EDP.
