Pascal
No, unfortunately my problem is not resolved, I still have no wifi - the triangle always empty, even when I try to activate it manually in Network Preferences. Another idea? Thank you.

Pascal
I do not know how to find mac (there is nothing in "about this mac") I find on the Dell site when I entered my serial number and told me that: "Broadcom 57xx" and "wireless 1390 WLANMinicard"
Administrators Leon Posted October 30, 2011 Administrators Share Posted October 30, 2011 Hi, Try when you have installed 10.6.8 to replace the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.6.7 in /System/Library/Extentions You can download it from here: http://team.osxlatitude.com/kexts/10.6.7/IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip And you use kexthelper to install it: http://team.osxlatitude.com/tools/Kext-Helper-b7.zip
Pascal
I have already made this change file this week but without success, but I think I also changed other files at the same time, I tried again with only that file to see. Unfortunately for my tests, my wife needs a laptop today and I put the 10.6.7 using Time Machine. I would put myself tonight (or last night) and I'll keep you informed of the results. A big thank you for your help. Good Sunday. Pascal.
iiebill
Maybe De-activate the wifi switch in bios, taking it out of the equation. Then use that system-info app (third party app) to see if a kext is being loaded. I had major issues with wifi not even showing up on menu...till I got the right kext. I ended up putting it in my extra folder. It was the broadcom 43xx family kext i think.
