jfmac
The Security Update 2015-004 causes a kernel panic on reboot, just like when updating the OS version #. You must turn NullCPUPowerManagement.kext back on (use mv command to rename) prior to update, and after reboot reinstall appropriate SLE directory kexts back to S/L/E. Maybe this is a well known fact, but I don't remember having this occur before with security updates.
Administrators Hervé Posted October 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 26, 2015 Nothing new; all security updates are like OS version/combo updates: they re-instate vanilla kexts + kernels. As such all Sandy + Ivy Bridge systems need to repatch/replace AICPUPM and all Haswell systems need to replace the kernel with the patched one after this new security update.
