  1. Thank you Bronxteck, actually I needed to put FakeSMC in /S/L/E & my org.chameleon.Boot.plist was for newer os. The plist also didn’t tell boot the location of DSDT. Anyway all good now!
  2. Hello Herve, initially l installed High Sierra (clover), but could not overcome freeze and crash of apps, especially safari. Usually would happen when moving windows. Tried everything I found through search, except switching out LCD . I already had the usb Yosemite install from a few years ago. Anyway… probably TMI. So that said, do you know what’s wrong with what I’ve done? Sometimes after a few years you forget how you did WHAT?
  3. I installed Yosemite 10.10.3 following this Chameleon guide by Jake Lo; then updated via software update to 10.10.5. All working well, except I can't boot without -f? I have repaired permissions and rebuilt the cache numerous times. The boot screen does not progress beyond this: last 2 lines read: Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine as line 581 Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine as line 18170 Attached below is my Extra Directory: 6420Extra.zip All help and suggestions greatly appreciated!
  4. Thank you Jake ; will try it this morning. Edit: Ok got to it this afternoon. Installer boot to mojave install = perfect. Now I just have to wait for arrival of interposer/adapeter for SSD and I'll be good to go.
  5. Hello, following Jake Lo's Clover guide for clean install of Mojave, and need a bootpack for E6230 i7 cpu 3ghz. Should I just use the one for High Sierra, or does someone have a Mojave bootpack. I've been successful over the years using Chameleon on an E6230 and an E6220 both of which were i5s. Clover is new to me and seems more complicated, but required for Mojave. Help appreciated.
  6. Many thanks to all who offered help/suggestions on this issue. Update: after much searching for a way to change CSR to 0x3 with Clover, I gave it up , and did a fresh installed El Capitan with Chameleon/Enoch. Running CSR set to 0x3 and removed rootless=0 from org.chameleon.Boot.plist after install and updates. Almost everything is working. Only complaint is my tilde character changed to +- sign. I'm using karabiner to remap the key.
  7. thanks Bronxteck copied all kext to /L/E ran chown, chmod, touch on /L/E and /S/L/E. created prelinked kernel with kextcache -Boot -U / moved kext in /EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other to new named directory within Other. will boot but changing CSR to 0x3 still results in same boot failure (see image in post #10) so still stuck with no protection at all. Any other idea welcome and appreciated.
  8. Thanks Bronxteck. I did new clover install, after making a big mess installing chameleon with it's extra folder to efi. Anyway, I'm still seeking a way to run with csr set at 3 and not 67. It's Impossible to boot, after changing the setting in config.plist, (whether I use Terminal or import the config into clover configurator). Also fails to boot after changing the setting in the clover menu. Do you know if it can be changed, or does the change to 3 leave some crucial part of the clover boot dysfunctional?
  9. Did recommend replacements. Then changed 0x67 to 0x3 in config.plist. Upon reboot there's still no option in the menu to boot with NoCaches. I entered NoCaches=true on the Boot Args: line. Here's the failed boot image: I wish I could make this work; I don't like not being able to turn sip at all. Not giving up yet. Is there some other tell tail clue in the image?
  10. Thanks Jake Lo. Can't find 3556 anywhere. all the supposed links go to current source forge installer. I can see 3577 still available at source forge so I'm downloading it. Do you still have the package installer for 3556? Herve, yes I was pretty comfortable with chameleon. Don't really want to start over @ this point
  11. Hello Herve, thanks for responding. Clover no longer includes the boot with no caches entry in the menu. I've tried booting -NoCashes and same without forward dash in boot arguments of the menu and it's a no go. Tried -F, Also changed <key>NoCaches</key> to true in the config.plist. None of these methods allows to boot. At this point I need to know how to boot without cache. Thanks
  12. Hello, I used Jake Lo’s El Capitan Latitude/Inspiron/Precision Clover Guide for installing on a Latitude E6230 (clover 3556). Replaced the DSDT from the bootpack with Jake Lo’s DSDT for correcting “instant wake†found elsewhere on this site. Everything is working perfectly. THANK YOU! Prior to this install I’ve used Chameleon on several desktops and a couple of Latitudes. The guides found on this site are always excellent = again Thank you. I see sip/crs is set at 0x67 in the config.plist which completely disables sip. Seems a bad idea to have sip totally disabled? Using Terminal on the mounted EFI partition, I changed the value 0x67 to 0x3 in EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist. upon rebooting the error is “almost word for word†to below: OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi Using reloc block: yes, hibernate wake: no Error allocating 0x#### pages at 0x####... alloc type 2 Error loading kernel cache (0x9) Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting... Yes, I do see this error under the Trouble Shooting section, but I have 2 4gb DIMMS… am I missing something here? Also used Clover Configurator to change to 0x3 and just got reboot Question: is it possible to run with clover at crs 0x3? and if yes how? Is it a matter of rebuilding the kernel cache or placing some/all of the kexts in S/L/E or what? Any help much appreciated.
  13. The Security Update 2015-004 causes a kernel panic on reboot, just like when updating the OS version #. You must turn NullCPUPowerManagement.kext back on (use mv command to rename) prior to update, and after reboot reinstall appropriate SLE directory kexts back to S/L/E. Maybe this is a well known fact, but I don't remember having this occur before with security updates.
