dbutt12
Hi I have the Dell Latitude E5520, with the sepcs Processor: i3-2350M 2.30GHz RAM: 6.0GB SSD:240GB Touchpad: ALPS Dell Touchpad OS: Yosemite 10.10.1 Hackintosh Zone I can't seem to get my trackpad working, and the funny thing is, it one day just randomly worked and hasn't worked since. I use the kext from here https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2545-new-touchpad-driver-for-e6520-alps/page-25. Does anyone know how to get it working. Also with the mousepad kext I installed using kext wizard and copied the daemon to usr/bin.

Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 31, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 31, 2016 Looks like you're using a non vanilla install method. Check your system for other PS2 kext that might have been installed. Look for ApplePS2Controller, AppleACPIPS2Nub, and VoodooPS2Controller. Remove them and then just re-add the one linked earlier. Repair permission and rebuild cache. dbutt12
I removed all of those kext, and it still didn't work. Could it be due to me using the Hackintosh.zone version, is there a different method that could guarantee more success? I also haven't tried patching a DSDT yet if that help, I only have the vanilla DSDT saved on a harddrive.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 31, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 31, 2016 Don't need DSDT for mouse to work. Are you currently using an external mouse? Go to preferences and see if trackpad is detected. Also check to see if the kext is loaded by going in the terminal and run kextstat | grep VoodooPS2
dbutt12
Alright I did kextstat, and nothing was returned. Also the trackpad was not detected.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 1, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2016 How are you installing the kexts? and where to? Not familiar with Hackintosh zone. What loader does it use? Chameleon or Clover?
dbutt12
For installing Kext, I use something called Kext wizard. It installs the kext to System/Library/Extensions. Also the image gives a choice between Chameleon and Clover, I choose to use Clover for MBR.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted June 1, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2016 Check all the folders in /EFI/Clover/Kexts for any other PS2 controller and remove it.
